In response to Alan Mays post about "Who do ya know", I know Alan Paul, the tenor with Mahattan Transfer.  One of the stories he's told us was about how he became part of the group.  He was performing on Broadway in Grease, when Tim Hauser (the tenor-at least he was then), who was driving a taxi at the time, and Janis Segal (the Alto), recruited him as their bass.  However, Alan could sing quite a bit higher than … (0 comments)
