The bonus spaces that can make a house a home can be a liability in a vanct home.  This home was on the market for months in a neighborhood where new construction and a large volume of new to the market options made selling very challenging.  The feed back was luke warm and the opportunity to shine just wasn't there.  In staging the home the designers at Design to Market focused on the added WOW! this sunroom off of the kitchen offered to the prospective buyer.

It's a tough decision to make.  Beautiful wallpaper professionally hung and in perfect condition.  We often face this dilemma as we review options with our clients.  It is expensive to remove wallpaper and often painful for the home-seller...I would say however that it is almost always the correct decision. 
This kitchen was in a beautiful condo that we staged in Cincinnati.  Along with furnishing selected rooms in this condo we also recommended broadening the appeal of the property by removing wallpaper and painting over faux finishes.  It was a tough decision for the homeowner to make but after months on the market, a quick sale and … (6 comments)
