frisco texas red light cameras: Frisco TX is NOT stopping on red! - 06/04/09 05:11 PM

Red light cameras that is. A few days ago I had a post that Frisco was stopping on red light cameras - well, the Texas legislature did not pass the bill that would have made the red light cameras outlaw'd. Frisco did not renew its monitoring contract because they wanted to wait and see if the bill was going to pass. Well, since it didn't Frisco is now going to be looking at proposals to monitor the lights again and soon they will be back up and running. We've all seen them, we've all heard about how the city puts these Red Light cameras in 'just to make money', well in Frisco as of midnight tonight (May 26) Frisco will no longer monitor its 2 red light cameras. It seems the contract with the monitoring company - Redflex Traffic Systems has run out, and Frisco is not going to be renewing it. The state of Texas is currently considering outlawing red light cameras and Frisco wants to wait and see if that happens before they sign any new contract.
