Reefpoint Marina on the western shore of Lake Michigan in Racine, Wisconsin has a little bit different look in January. (Still very beautiful)
It still has quite a few customers.

Racine Wisconsin Ice Carving Competition Held January 12, 2008 - 01/24/08 07:34 PM
It was a great competition, and is gaining popularity every year. This year was very accomodating to the artists as well as to the sculptures. Beautiful works of ice art lined Main St. in Downtown Racine.
This sculpture, in front of an Art Gallery and next to a Coffee Shop is still intact since January 12th. Today is January 24 and it has not even begun to melt! Brrrrr

Racine, Wisconsin Public Library Overlooking Lake Michigan - 01/24/08 07:05 PM
Racine has an absolutely beautiful Library in a world class setting, overlooking General Pershing Park and Lake Michigan. I believe it was built around 1960, with an addition in the 1990's, replaced an outdated, but beautiful Library Building that was built in 1903-1904 with an endowment from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation.
Outstanding programs for everyone from pre-schoolers to Senior citizens are offered on a regular basis. Program schedules are available at www.cityofracine.org.
The old Library is located one block west of the current library and houses the Racine Historical Society.

I am an independent voter. According to a September 3, 2006 Washington Post article, A Nation of Free Agents, by Marc Ambinder:
"Independent voters comprise about 10 percent of the electorate, but the percentage of persuadable independents has shot up to about 30 percent. In the 27 states that register voters by party, self-declared independents grew from 8 percent of the registered electorate in 1987 to 24 percent in 2004, according to political analyst Rhodes Cook. It's the Economy Stupid! Real Estate and Mortgage Markets Adjust - 01/14/08 08:05 PM
The pre-2000 Real Estate and Mortgage Markets will be back soon. Price decline will flatten out, appreciation rate of Real Estate will equal the GNP rate, anemic, but the downward trend will subside, in most areas, homes will not be able to be used as ATM machines. When? 2008 in areas that did not experience double digit appreciation, 2009-2010 in areas that had the huge appreciation rates. People looking for mortgages will NEED TO QUALIFY!! The nonsense that got us to the crisis we are in is OVER!!

Well not yet, but after next Sunday, see ya in Phoenix! What an inspirational story! Beating the odds to get to the NFL Championship game, beating the odds to continue to play at such a high level of competition at 38 years old.
