Located in the southern portion of the University District and within easy walking distance of OSU, OSU Medical Center, Battelle Corporation, and the High Street shopping district, you will find Dennison Place.  The Dennison Place neighborhood was formerly called the “Fifth to King” neighborhood. The actual development of Dennison Place started in the late 1880’s when Civil War Governor William Dennison subdivided the farm given to him by his father in law- William Neil who owned most of the area and the subdivision of the farm became known as the Dennison Park Addition. Today it is unofficially known as the Circle Neighborhood because it was laid out on a grand scale with circular parks at street intersections. Large two and three story homes of brick and stone reflect the late Victorian architectural styles. With their prestige and character, these households have over the years become known as stable neighborhood with fine housing stock and well crafted homes with beautiful historical homes with attractive amenities. Although not part of Victorian Village, some homes in Dennison Place have been included in the Victorian Village House and Garden Tour and Dennison Place is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Most of the homes were originally built in the early 1900’s and many have been restored to their original style. It is an older area with established trees and easy access to many areas in Columbus. In 1980’s, the Dennison Place courtyard condo area was created when the historical homes were moved to new foundations and garages with parking space.
