The village of Metamora is located within the township, and the Metamora post office, with zip code 48455, also serves most of the township. The village of Oxford is to the south in Oakland County, and the Oxford post office, with zip code 48371, also serves a portion of southern Metamora Township.

It's true. My client actually thanked me for trying my best to sell his vacant property. I called him yesterday to obtain a price reduction on his 2.5 acre lot in Ortonville, listed it in June of 09, we've had lots of hits and the flyer box is always empty but no sale. He agreed to the reduction and told me how much he appreciates my hard work.
Does he really know how much work goes into selling a listing? Documents copied and filed, pictures, order sign, print flyers, enter into websites, mail just listed post cards, fax listing to friends … (3 comments)

Lake Orion, Michigan - 12/02/09 04:35 PM
The village of Lake Orion...here's a short version of the historic past.
Philip Bigler and Jesse Decker arrived and purchased a tract of land, where they erected a dam to unite several lakes into 1 large body of water: Lake Orion. They also constructed a sawmill below the present dam site. The waters of Paint Creek powered machines that cut logs into board lumber and ground wheat into flour that was critical to early settlers. In 1832 the sawmill was burned by vengeful Indians (or so the story goes).
