The date for the 4th Annual Summer Slam Volleyball Tournament in AuGres has changed as the event looks to expand this year. The tournament, typically held on Labor Day weekend, will be held Aug. 6th this year, to allow more college students to participate. The tournament has evolved over the past few years. The most notable change is that the funds raised will go toward a scholarship fund in memory of Ashley Irwin. The volleyball tournament will feature 4-person teams divided into different categories. Michigan Walleye Tour will return to Tawas this weekend The Michigan Walleye Tour will hold a 2 day fishing tournament in Tawas Bay this Saturday and Sunday, according to organizers. The tour travels to walleye locations in Michigan for events that culminate with a state championship. The Tawas Bay event is the last qualifying fishing tournament before the finale, to be held on Lake Leelanau in September. Last year the organization's championship was held on Tawas Bay. Former Oxford Village DPW To Appear On Ballot - 07/01/11 08:09 AM
No support for selling museum or other properties When the Village of Oxford MI voters head to the polls on 09/13/2011, they will be asked for permission to sell a small piece of public property. Council last week voted 3 - 2 to place the .43 acre vacant parcel, located on the west side of Pleasant St, on the ballot. The property formerly housed the village's DPW facilities until they were demolished in 2003. Since then, there had been discussion about turning the land into a small park, but no action was ever taken. Council was considering placing 4 other village (0 comments)
