Just read a great article from Caryn Rousseau of Associated Press on how  Good Housekeeping will unveil the new Green Housekeeping Seal in the April issue.  The magazine, with a circulation of 25 million, has partnered with the Santa Barbara based environmental consultancy firm Brown & Wilmanns Environment to develop the green criteria.  Determining what products get the green thumbs-up will include evaluating its health value and toxicity.  Its a combination of looking at the materials that go into the product aspects of waste, energy use, water use and certainly the potential health impacts associated with the products, " said Michael … (1 comments)

Referred by some as green washing which is defined by Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, as
Greenwash (a portmanteau of green and whitewash) is a term used to describe the practice of companies disingenuously spinning their products and policies as environmentally friendly, such as by presenting cost cuts as reductions in use of resources.
