As reported in THE TENNESSEAN by Kevin Walters "the national accolatdes keep piling up for Franklin" BUSINESSWEEK announced Monday that Franklin TN was identified as one of the top 50 US small cities for entrepreneurs to launch a business. Good Housekkeping to unveil green seal - 03/12/09 04:32 PM
Just read a great article from Caryn Rousseau of Associated Press on how Good Housekeeping will unveil the new Green Housekeeping Seal in the April issue. The magazine, with a circulation of 25 million, has partnered with the Santa Barbara based environmental consultancy firm Brown & Wilmanns Environment to develop the green criteria. Determining what products get the green thumbs-up will include evaluating its health value and toxicity. Its a combination of looking at the materials that go into the product aspects of waste, energy use, water use and certainly the potential health impacts associated with the products, " said Michael (1 comments)

Greenwashing....What green isn't Referred by some as green washing which is defined by Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, as Greenwash (a portmanteau of green and whitewash) is a term used to describe the practice of companies disingenuously spinning their products and policies as environmentally friendly, such as by presenting cost cuts as reductions in use of resources. It is a deceptive use of green pr or green marketing. The term green sheen has similarly been used to describe organizations that attempt to show that they are adopting practices beneficial to the environment. Diane Osowiecki and Mandy Buchholz are the first 30 in Tennessee and the first 500 in the United States to receive this designation from the National Association of Realtors.
