According to Ecology Global Network May 23rd is World Turtle Day! The American Tortoise Rescue started World Turtle Day in an effort to raise awareness about turtles around the world. Turtles are important to our environment, they have been on the earth for 200 million years in oceans, ponds and on land on every continent except Antarctica.
Turtles are very interesting to learn about, for example, did you know some female turtles produce eggs four years after mating? Did you know turtles range in size from 4” to 10’?
