Storms like this one, take me back to a hurricane named "Agnes." She hit Maryland with a vengeance. It was in the late 60's. The streets of Randallstown were under water. People were stranded in their homes and all … (0 comments)

30 in 30, CAN! - 09/29/10 08:44 PM
30 in 30, CAN!

I'm speechless as I sit typing my thirtieth blog post! Although I planned to succeed, I thought life would happen. A few posts were completed while watching the clock, thinking ... don't blow it, you can do it! And I DID IT!
As those that made it to the finish line before me have said, the 30 in 30 challenge starts out for the points and something else evolves; a sense of belonging, inspiration, education, relationships, camaraderie, accomplishment, support, prioritizing skills, fun, laughter and so much more.
The funny thing is, life did happen and I … (7 comments)

How heavy is a glass of water? This is appropriate for all of us.... Courtesy of Your Maryland REALTOR(R), Manchester, Hampstead, Westminster and across MD - 09/28/10 07:58 AM
This is appropriate for all of us.....

A lecturer when explaining stress management to an audience,
Raised a glass of water and asked;'How heavy is this glass of water?'Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it.If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier … (8 comments)

Old news, New news,Good News ~ Cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies.  Take a minute and call 888-382-1222, or go online and make sure your on the DO NOT CALL list. It only takes a minute and will save you time and money.
October 1st, Maryland prohibits the use of handheld cell phones while operating a motor vehicle.
It's really easy to make the change to hands free, if I can do it you can too! It took a little getting used to, but once I did,  I wished … (0 comments)

I commented on a few blogs, had some brain storming time and watched a movie, mostly it was a day to relax and let some of the learning soak in. Tomorrow is another day!

HUD Housing Choice Vouchers - Rental Propety Owners & Tenants Needing Assistance - 09/23/10 09:44 PM
HUD Housing Choice Vouchers - Rental Propety Owners & Tenants Needing Assistance
The housing choice voucher program is the federal government's major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to find their own housing where the owner agrees to rent under the program, including single-family homes, townhouses and apartments.
A housing subsidy is paid to the landlord directly by the PHA (Public Housing Agency) on behalf of the participating family. The … (0 comments)

Wordless Wednesday - Do I live in the country … or wild kingdom? - 09/22/10 07:48 PM
Do I live in the country ... or wild kingdom?
It's been a long, productive day. I need something light to talk about. I finally arrived home, exhausted, headed for the coffee pot and my son shows me the pictures he took.

This cute little fawn was running around my back yard.

Until.....
He decided to relax a while! SO cute.

Taking the plunge: real estate, writing, buying, selling, blogging, whatever it is, take the plunge. You are worthy of the task! - 09/20/10 10:30 AM

Taking the plunge: Real estate, writing, buying, selling, blogging, whatever it is, take the plunge. You are worthy of the task!
I am reading a book titled, On Writing Well, by William Zinsser in it he wrote - "Assume that you are a writer sitting down to write to write. You think your article has to be of a certain length or it won't seem important. You think about how it will look in print. You think of all the people who will read it. You think that the style must dazzle. No wonder you tighten; you are so busy thinking of your … (2 comments)

Sunday Shorts ~ Second Showings - 09/19/10 09:18 PM
Second showings

Showings are opportunity knocking for sellers. It's always good news to have a showing. A buyer, 99.9% of the time, will tour the property before buying.
Second showings can be exciting. They can mean more than one thing:
Potential Buyer is.....
•1.       really interested
•2.      ruling it out
•3.      bringing a family member or friend for a second opinion
Buyers frequently have a second look before writing an offer, not always, but some do. It's a major purchase and all parties want to be sure.
If your home is priced correctly, before long you will have a ready, … (0 comments)

Thank you so much for making my Open House today a success! - 09/18/10 09:30 PM

Thank you so much for making my Open House today a success!
It was a peerless day! The sun was shining; the temperature would have suited even the Grinch! And fifteen people, 15, toured the house. There were families who were downsizing, relocating and starting a new life together. Some took pictures to share with family members who could not come for the visit. Most ooohed and aahhhed at how much bigger the house physically is than what it appears from the street.  A few, took the extra time to chat, genuinely, about what their living situation is currently and … (2 comments)

My Theory on Spiders...... - 09/17/10 08:33 PM
My theory on spiders...
The only good spider, is a dead spider!
I was driving along, on my way to an appointment, minding my own business, sipping my three o'clock coffee when ..... out of the corner of my eye, I saw something moving ....ON MY HIP! It was brown, with really long legs and a yellowish body. HOLY COW! I'm scared of spiders, did I mention that little piece of info?! Ridiculously petrified! Thinking to my self .....I just had to pick today to wear a dress!
Gasp....I remained calm, pulled the car to the side of the road, … (7 comments)

10 Reasons to Buy a Home - 09/17/10 06:53 PM
10 Reasons to Buy a Home
Think Positive!!! See the Positive!!!
Time magazine is being overly pessimistic in its recent cover piece that called into question the benefits of homeownership. In fact, now is a great time to buy. And, what's more, tomorrow will be a great time to own, because the fundamental strength of homeownership hasn't changed. Why is now a great time to buy? Here are 10 reasons:1. You can get a good deal. Prices are down 30 percent on average. They're at a level that makes sense for people's income. 2. Mortgages are cheap. At 4.3 percent … (0 comments)
