blogging: Summer Dayz ~ 2012 - 07/23/12 03:52 PM
Summer Dayz ~ 2012Summer Dayz ~For me, summer starts when school lets out in mid June that’s when the chaos begins. Eleven weeks start to finish, six weeks already behind us, boy does time fly! One of things I love I haven’t made time for, blogging. I have plenty to talk about, just haven’t made time. Bill & Liz Spear once said about blogging, “missing one day leads to two and before you know it....” I’m the before you know it. I have a few blogging friends who have dropped off too so I’m not alone. Everytime I think I don’t (5 comments)
blogging: My favorite way to be in the rain, ActiveRain, is daily. - 04/27/12 06:34 AM
My favorite way to be in the rain, ActiveRain, is daily. Singing in the rain as many call it. It seems I have fallen off the wagon and just need to get back on. Why is that so hard? Kind of like picking up the phone when you have lost touch with a dear friend. The benefits are huge & we know we are welcome, family even but the intimidation factor of time lost, picking up the phone or blogging creeps in and we just can’t let it win. Do you have a post or two to share, a phone call (8 comments)
blogging: Can writing about writers block break the block? - 02/17/12 09:04 PM
Can writing about writers block break the block?Over the last few days I have had the worst case of writers block. Nine days and no blog posts. UGH! I guess anyone who writes encounters writers block now & again. I’m not talking about lack of topic. Subjects to write/blog about in real estate are endless. I’m talking about putting the content together.I was recently asked to write a guest blog about my community with a simple outline relative to my industry, real estate, and community, Carroll County, what could be easier? Right? I dove into the project, pulled fresh statistics, reviewed (9 comments)
blogging: ActiveRain University - Webinar - 01/13/12 10:34 PM
ActiveRain University Webinar - SEOActiveRain has taught me everything I know about blogging and “SEO”. What is SEO & why should I care? Well, as a business person who wants to blog for business SEO is the key. SEO is search engine optimization which essentially means writing a blog post that “speaks” to search engines so people who need the information can find the information. I recommend the SEO webinar with Bob Stewart, he is a wonderful trainer and Bob is extremely knowledgeable regarding blogging, Search engine optimizing and a great deal more.I have attended ActiveRain “Rain Camps” full day seminars (3 comments)
blogging: One idea from The Sales Blitz ~ Baltimore, MD - 03/27/11 11:36 AM
One idea from the Sales Blitz ~ Baltimore, MDLast week at the Coldwell Banker Sales Blitz one of the round-table sessions I joined talked about 10 top tips, although it was difficult to hear all of the presentation, one idea I picked up made perfect sense. Blogging is about sharing yourself, ourselves, with the public. The purpose being so they see us as who we really are, people. It’s not about constantly jamming sales, sales, sales. That’s why blogging suits me so well. I’ve never been able to see myself as a “sales person.” I don’t personally care for the typical (5 comments)
Taking the plunge: Real estate, writing, buying, selling, blogging, whatever it is, take the plunge. You are worthy of the task! I am reading a book titled, On Writing Well, by William Zinsser in it he wrote - "Assume that you are a writer sitting down to write to write. You think your article has to be of a certain length or it won't seem important. You think about how it will look in print. You think of all the people who will read it. You think that the style must dazzle. No wonder you tighten; you are so busy thinking of your (2 comments)
