Despite dire predictions that were heard at least as far West as Kansas, Earl Passed By Rehoboth with a few sprinkles and a lovely breeze.  I will admit to a strong undertow, and you won't find me out in the ocean, but all is well here.  We're due for a beautiful weekend.  Come on by yourself!!

rehoboth beach: Rehoboth's Spring Clean-Up - 04/05/10 02:24 AM
One of the perks of living inside the Rehoboth Beach city limits is Spring Clean-Up!  Municipal workers cruise the streets two weeks in April, trolling for trash that is too large to be collected with the usual trucks.  Furniture, dead appliances, unwanted artificial Christmas trees, even the kitchen sink will be collected at no charge.  I'm looking forward to disposing of a gas grill that nearly exploded recently--the fuel line caught fire and the temperature knobs burned clean off the front!  Often, objects left on the curb are picked up long before the trash truck comes by.  I'll need to put … (4 comments)

rehoboth beach: Polar Bear Plunge 2010 - 03/15/10 12:59 PM
The 19th Annual Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olypmpics took place Sunday, March 14 at Rehoboth Beach.  The Plunge was originally scheduled for early February, but one of the winter's blizzards made postponement necessary.  2,323 polar bears raised over $500,000 for this very special cause.  Governor Markell was among the plungers, and thousands of onlookers provided warm moral support for the braver participants.  For more information and photos, log onto http://www.plungede.org/.  (Just one more factoid...water temp. Sunday was a bracing 42 degrees!)

rehoboth beach: Rehoboth Christmas Parade a Huge Success - 12/08/09 07:45 AM

Need I say more?  The parade was great fun, as you can see.  Traditions like the parade and the tree-lighting ceremony really give Rehoboth that warm, "Hometown" feel, as opposed to the resort destination by which we are known by many in the summer.  By the way, if you missed Santa in the parade, you can visit him in his house on the Boardwalk at the end of Rehoboth Avenue the next two weekends, Saturdays from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.  And if you're looking for … (0 comments)

rehoboth beach: Fair Days - 07/24/09 07:52 AM

As of last night and through Saturday night, August 1, the Delaware State Fair is ON!!  Some of the highlights for me included the HUGE (and I mean major coleslaw huge), cabbage, the Wall of Hay, the baby goats butting heads (too cuuute!), baby cows (always had a soft spot for baby cows), quilt display (of course), photography exhibit, birdhouse beach house, energy and lights of the Midway, yummy chicken dinner served by the Grange ladies and, most of all, the rodeo!
It's not too late to get in on the fun.  The fair is held at the state grounds … (0 comments)

rehoboth beach: A REALTOR's Day Off - 04/29/09 09:12 AM

Last Thursday, April 23, I skipped town and took a Road Trip to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. with my friend, Beth. What a glorious day!  The tulips were beyond description, and the display in the Observatory was gorgeous as well.
One of the great things about living in Rehoboth Beach is that it's a convenient day trip to so many interesting places--
Washington, D.C. - 2.5 Hours Baltimore - 1.5 Hour Annapolis - 1.5 Hour Wilmington - 1.5 Hour Philadelphia - 2 Hours Newark - 1.5 Hours Longwood - 2-2.5 Hours Now I just need to figure out where to … (6 comments)
