allyn: Wordless Wednesday in Allyn - 09/29/11 12:15 AM
The Northwest is full of treasures. From the dew drops sliding off the limb of an ancient cedar tree to the morning mist revealing a lake born to reflect Rainier. The newborn deer stumble up from the soft earth to breath in a new day. The blossoms emerging from their nights slumber beckon them to breakfast. Time changes everything as it drifts from season to season and century to century calling all to try again. Life is full of moments that are made for each one of us. If we pause long enough we may be able to catch one and enjoy its

allyn: Do I know you? - 09/26/11 02:55 PM
I have been working from home the past few months and I really enjoy it. The coffee is always hot and my favorite brand. I can play whatever station I want to listen to with out anyone groaning. And dinner is always hot and on the table, not a last minute grab and go at the grocery store. The downside is the phone calls all day long. I get hang up calls from nearly every organization under the sun and if they are on the line, they proceed to tell me how bad life is, and that for just a

allyn: Silent Sunday at Theler... - 09/25/11 03:19 PM
The Theler wetlands is the perfect way to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon. Birds dip and soar as they call to the winds. Small animals pause on the graveled path as if to consider the humans. Breezes carry through the channel of Hood Canal to retell a legend lost to time. The coy sun melts though the gray and understands that Theler is more than a moment to be found.

Over 1,200 trout planted in early April. They are about 11-13 inches long, have scales, and a wide eyed look. If you live in LakeLand Village head on down to the waterand see if you can spy one or two. They have been settling in and trying tofind the best hiding spots in the lake for the last few weeks. Residents inLakeLand Village were given the green light to begin fishing April 13th andmany have been spotted on the docks taking full advantage of the opportunity. allyn: Get up and Dance! - 12/06/08 04:19 PM
I picked my daughter Megan up from a school dance last night. She had a great time. It was a lot of fun even thought the music was loud.(I thought kids liked loud music, it drowns out the annoying parent voices in their heads!)But she said she wanted to tell me a story about a girl that she was talking to at the dance,I braced myself for a scary story. Megan said when she went in to use the restroom there was a girl sitting on the floor looking very dejected. She ask if something was wrong and the girl responded

allyn: Mystery Rock - 12/05/08 03:31 PM
Did you know that in Allyn, Washington along the North Bay, of Case Inlet we have a mystery rock? It was discovered many years ago and appears to have ancient Indian writing on it. I was told that someone had tried to excavate it a long time ago, but after digging hundreds of feet down was not able to locate the bottom. Many of the locals that have been here for years know of this rock, but I am not sure how many of the new comers do. Allyn has a lot of large rocks just sitting around, and not really attached
