Bailey Island Club should be the text book example of how to develop a pristine barrier island. Bailey has a rich history that makes it very special to Edisto. Originally home to two plantations: Bailey and Mikell. Both the Baileys and Mikells were very prominent Edisto families.
Bailey Island is just over 1000 acres surrounded by the South Edisto River on two sides, the St. Pierre, and Bailey Creek. There will only 32 waterfront lots with 410 acres in a permanent conservation easement that all members are allowed to use for various recreational activities.
