edisto: 400k Redbreast Sunfish to be released in Edisto River - 11/02/11 04:51 PM
South Carolina Department of Natural Resources released 400,000 Redbreast Sunfish in the Edisto River today. Redbreast are similiar size and shape to common freshwater Bream Sunfish. However they thrive in rivers not lakes and are easily identified by the bright red color. They are easily caught on almost any live bait or artificial bait such as beetle spins. I grew up using crickets so that will always be my first choice. Even though they are relatively small they put up a good fight on light tackle or cane poles. Whaley's has re-opened after a couple of weeks for a re-model. The renovation included all new tables and booths. They removed the pool table and games. In the old game room there are six new booths and about six new tables. The stage has been moved to the other side of the front door. The bathrooms have been completely re-done, top to bottom.
With warm weather coming Whaley's will be the local hang-out of choice for happy hour. Van has re-done the menus and has new daily specials. George is still as fun-loving and customer service oriented as ever.

The 28th Annual Southeastern Wildlife Expo will be held February 12-14 in Historic Downtown Charleston. SEWE is one of my favorite events. With nearly 40,000 attendees last year it is one of the most popular events in South Carolina. The largest wildlife art and nature event in the country. But it is not all about Art. Sewe is much more than an art exhibit.
SEWE has something for everyone. There are outdoor presentations, demonstrations, and exhibits. Dealing with a variety of interests including conservation, preservation, hunting, and fishing. Those of you who are my Facebook friends will surely remember my closing last week. With the amount of comments I got on Facebook I thought I would share the story with the ActiveRain community. I had a closing as the selling agent and the listing agent was my BIC Matthew Kizer. The buyer is one of my best clients and a very good friend.
