The 28th Annual Southeastern Wildlife Expo will be held February 12-14 in Historic Downtown Charleston.  SEWE is one of my favorite events.  With nearly 40,000 attendees last year it is one of the most popular events in South Carolina.  The largest wildlife art and nature event in the country.  But it is not all about Art.  Sewe is much more than an art exhibit.
SEWE has something for everyone.  There are outdoor presentations, demonstrations, and exhibits.  Dealing with a variety of interests including conservation, preservation, hunting, and fishing.  My kids enjoy the Retriever demonstration at Brittlebank Park and the Birds of Prey exhibit.  Jack Hanna will have a … (3 comments)

south carolina: Another SC Wildlife Refuge Crown Jewel - Hobcaw Barony - 12/04/09 11:00 PM
With all the press Botany Bay has gotten lately, I started to wonder if there were any other truely magnificient coastal plantations that had been protected for future generations.  One that quickly popped in my mind was Hobcaw Barony.  One of my college roommates worked there most summers since he was old enough to drive from his hometown of Kingstree.  His parents owned a home in Litchfield so he had a place to live that was pretty close.  Well at least closer than Kingstree.
