Cobb County School Board Meets with Grand Jury - 03/30/11 07:38 AM
This Friday, all seven members of the Cobb County School Board are to meet with the Cobb County grand jury. It is assumed that the "balanced calendar" will be the most pressing topic, due to the uproar over the four board members who seem to have complete disregard for the majority of teachers, parents and students voting for the issue. It is not rare for board members to meet with the jury, but all members summoned is an unusual occurance. The meeting will be private until a May 5th general presentment.

The Closing Gift - Active Rain Challenge - 03/21/11 10:09 AM
Closing gifts are special and should be unique and tailored to each particular client. Depending on the situation, it could be as simple as a do it yourself store gift certificate, or small personalized gift from a local store. If the property is a presale and built from the ground up, a set of pictures capturing the various stages of construction and then put in a digital frame is typically a treasured keepsake. This documents the process and makes for special memories for years to come. A personalized gift with the clients name on it is another type of closing gift … (0 comments)

Another Reason To Get Your Buyers with Competent Lenders - 03/17/11 08:34 AM
More frequently than not, potential Buyers that have decided to work with us, have their mortgage broker or loan officer already and have been "pre-approved" with them. We can suggest that they speak with our preferred lenders who are competent and reliable to make the process as smooth as possible, or go with what's behind door number 2, which typically happens to be a wild roller coaster ride of emotions, rate swings and utter incompetence.
Case in point.
Buyer goes under contract for a home and has VA financing. Loan officer states "everything is fine" throughout process and even gets a … (3 comments)

Master Planned Communities - Pros and Cons - 03/16/11 08:17 AM
Master planned communities are quite popular in the Metro Atlanta real estate market. These communities typically consist of numerous subdivisions with different price ranges, features, etc. developed together with amenities such as golf, tennis, playgrounds and even commercial or retail space.
The lure of these neighborhoods is that you can live, work and play close to home and have the attractive amenities that are generally found in this type of neighborhood. Typically you are getting a little less square footage in the home as you are buying the "lifestyle" and amenities. Master planned communities are not as prevalent due to them needing a significant area … (1 comments)

Cobb County School Board - Balanced Calendar Part Two - 03/13/11 06:18 PM
I recently posted regarding the rescinding of the "new" balanced calendar that was put into place less than 1 year ago. After quite an uproar from parents, students and teachers, David Banks, Cobb County School Board member from Post 5, attempted to have the February vote rescinded due to the overwhelming support for the balanced calendar. The same board members who voted it down, have once again rejected to have it placed on the agenda. Now, there is an initaitive to have these same board members recalled. I say go for it. Three of the four were mistaken that by starting … (0 comments)
