While parts of the east coast was hit with some early snow fall this past Tuesday, I don't think Storm Fields saw it coming, many attended the EverythingJersey: business 2nd Annual Statewide Conference & Expo at the Garden State Exhibit Center this past Tuesday. It was a first for me and I was pretty excited to attend.

With all that's going on today, wall street crashing, gas prices rising (although lately they have been coming down), and all the foreclosures affecting various markets, I hear even Jack O' Lantern is taking a hit too. Due to weather conditions in certain areas, pumpkins used for craving during this festive time of year will be scarce.

In this business of real estate transactions, there is no such thing as a sure thing? After Big Brown's disappointing last place finish at the Belmont, I'm sure there are plenty of horse-racing fans that have come to that very same conclusion. I recently rid myself of a blemish that was affecting my smile. My adult tooth, front & center, grew in with what the Dentist termed as an over-calcified stain. It prevented me from smiling much, and I when speaking face to face with someone I'd always look away for fear my tooth would be the other person's focus of attention. I recently decided to fork over the $880, which insurance doesn't cover because it's considered cosmetic, to have my smile corrected and I feel so much better. I read an article in the February edition of the Realtor Magazine titled "Help Troubled Borrowers." The article provides us with information to pass on to past customers, who may now come to us for advice in dealing with their mortgage situations. When asked for advice, the article suggests that we tell them:
1) Have them call the counseling hot-line @ (888) 995-HOPE, which is available 24/7
2) Expect to be on the phone about 45 minutes
3) Expect a counselor to recommend a course of action
4) Servicers are increasingly amenable to be flexible
5) Borrowers are receiving fast-track workout plans based on their eligibility

I just read an on-line article which suggests that real estate professionals are leaving the business by the thousands due to the housing slump. My advice to anyone contemplating leaving the business would be to at least hold on to your license. We've all put in the time and effort to get our licenses, it would be a shame to let it go to waste. It doesn't cost much to hang your license with a broker or a referral agency to keep it active. Well now, scientists have a way to detect the love one might have for another. According to an article I read, scientists can perform an MRI on a person's brain, while "gazing at a picture" of a loved one, and a certain area of the brain will glow. Amazing right.
