A throwback to the gatherings of old, the Jackson Hole Hootenanny continues the tradition of muscial get-togethers at 7pm Monday evenings at Dornan's in Moose. Beginning in 1993, Dick Barker and Bill Briggs co-founded what would become "the Hoot" as a way to get together with friends and enjoy live acoustical music together. The largest consumer of energy in Jackson Hole, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, has committed to offsetting their energy use with renewable energy: geothermal energy, small hydro, biomass and wind.  Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) uses approximately 9,000,000 kwh per year.  Through a program with Renewable Choice Energy, JHMR will be able to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 37.5 million pounds.  To put this in perspective, this would be the same as taking over 3800 cars off the road or planting almost 5300 acres of fully matured trees.  Additionally, JHMR has been fully certified as a third party ISO "green" company.  This makes it one … (2 comments)
