This is my first entry for this blog and I was going to start out with great real estate reference books that everyone who is interested in investing in real estate should own. I am working with someone who is just starting to invest and wanted some books to help educate him.  A few of these were from a civil engineer which is what my buyer requested.

1)The Millionaire Real Estate Investor, Gary Keller, Publisher McGraw Hill

2)Real Estate Finance and Investment Manual, Jack Cummings, Publisher Prentice Hall

3)The Complete Guide to WA Real Estate Practices, Alan Tonnon, 4th Ed.

4)The Land Development Book, 2nd, The Dewberry Companies

5)Practice Manual of Land Development, Barbara Colley, PE

6)Means Estimating Handbook, 2nd Edition

7)Spec Builder's Guide, Jack Jones

8)Means Constructions Standards Cost Estimation Books (Residential, Commercial, Remodel, Cost/SF, Cost/Unit, etc.)

The 1st book is one of the best books I have read for learning about real estate investing and various strategies to build a buisness, the 2nd is a technical hand reference, the 3rd is also a reference book geared towards WA state practices, the 4th and 5th are geared towards engineers and land developers 7 is a guide for homeowners/builders who want some templates to manage spec home construction and book 8 are a series of cost estimating books for a wide range of construction types.

I am sure there are many great books that are worth adding to your library, these are just a few to help get you started.
