About the New River Valley SW Virginia's New River Valley is made up of some of the most beautiful places on earth and so much history; there is not enough time nor space to mention it all! The counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski and the City of Radford are all part of the NRV. It is located in SW Virginia and the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains. I wanted to share some profound wisdom from my child :) When my son was small one of our favorite fall pass times was to take rides on Sunday afternoon. We would go to Giles to pick apples at the orchard near Mountain Lake, or get a bucket of KFC and ride to Floyd Co. From there, we would hop on the Blueridge Parkway, go to Mabry's Mill & watch them make maple syrup then ride down to Nancy's candy company in the Meadows of Dan for pumpkin fudge. Such a wonderful relaxing day. It became something we looked forward to each year. On
