It's almost here!!  The Durham Fair located on the Durham Fairgrounds at the junction of Routes 68, 17 and 79 in Durham Connecticut is being held this weekend on September 25, 26, 27, 2009. Located just offshore the Branford waterfront community ot Stony Creek CT are the beautiful Thimble Islands.
A few weeks ago fellow Active Rain member Andrea Swiedler and I met for the first time and took a 45-minute tour aboard The Sea Mist for a Thimble Islands cruise.
We took so many photos that day of the cottages and estates in addition to the breathtaking views that surround the Thimble Islands.

Last summer I came out of retirment after an 6-year absence and returned to the game I love, the sport of bowling. 
 
My husband had been after me for the past few years to get back in the game but due to a few injuries (carpal tunnel, tendonitis, rotator cuff and lower back pain) I had great apprehension about my physical ability and whether I could even play again.

This represents an increase of  40.09% for Connecticut home foreclosure filings from July 2009. Total foreclosure activity in Connecticut increased 22.25% from August 2008. Connecticut was ranked #29 in foreclosure filings in July 2009.
