seo search optimization links: 30 Second SEO/Link Building Tip #5 - Go Back to Basics! - 02/04/09 10:32 AM
30 Second SEO/Link Building Tip #5 - Go Back to Basics! As a ten year veteran of the SEO wars, I have never seen a time when there was so much "noise" in the SEO business. Especially in real estate. You'll hear about a new strategy or approach everywhere you turn. I am not a "my way or the highway" SEO theorist. I've seen several of these new approaches work. But I also apply a "what does it take to get there?" analysis. There is a huge difference in time and effort between many of these new approaches. Some of them

seo search optimization links: Social Network sites for links? - 01/16/09 09:33 AM
I'd like to hear from anyone who is using their SocNet memberships to actively post relevent, andchor text rich links back to their own sites, on their profile or on their "member" blogs. Which sites? MySpace FacebookLinkedIn Hoe about TruliaZillow, etc? We'll be building a SocNet Manager tool that will help organize this, make in manageable, expand the reach by finding new sites to put them, and then track the profle or post URLs, so you can easily put them on your own site, and get them indexed.

seo search optimization links: Link Building Campaigns - A Very Different Business Perspective - 01/09/09 11:43 AM
This is a long post, but I hope it goes a long way toward shedding some light on the whole link building discussion in a way that is rarely, if ever, put forward publicly by anyone in the SEO business. Some link building advice is so costly, difficult to manage, or unproductive that advising agents who need links to do it borders on the ridiculous. I think it makes more sense to stop and consider this from a

seo search optimization links: Why the "Lead Generator" sites dominate YOUR local search results! - 06/02/08 10:54 AM
I am hearing a lot of chatter that agents are frustrated that the national aggregator/lead generation sites, like homes.com, realtor.com, realestate.yahoo.com, citysearch, trulia, etc., are dominating the first page of search results (SERPs). Often, this is accompanied by "conspiracy theory" talk, or just plain old resignation, as in "that's the way it is". NOT THE CASE, folks. Site owners who DO THE RIGHT THINGS in terms of search optimization generally displace these various "lead generation" sites (the big boys) from the first page of Google. I will provide a couple of real examples, below. In fact, I use all of this

seo search optimization links: Do you need a Mentor Evaluation? - 05/30/08 02:32 PM
Is your mentor in this business serving you well, with respect to marketing advice in the current market? Many mentors are well versed in the various business aspects of real estate, with one glaring exception. Many just wish that the WWW would just go away. Here are some questions to ask about your own mentor:1) Is their website dormant, ignored, and used for no real business purpose except as "brochure-ware"?2) Where do they rank in free search for their primary search terms in their market?3) Do they use email list management as an effective lead and sales tool?4) Do they know how
