Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac announced this week that they will be suspending evictions of foreclosed single-family and 2- to 4-unit properties between Dec. 19 and Jan. 2.

CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — For the fifth week in a row, rates on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged at or below 4%, according to Freddie Mac’s weekly survey of conforming mortgage rates, released on Thursday.
The 30-year mortgage averaged 4% for the week ending Dec. 1, up slightly from 3.98% last week. The mortgage averaged 4.46% a year ago.
Fifteen-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 3.3%, unchanged from last week and down from 3.81% a year ago.

Happy Monday everyone! We are always happy to share positive news from usatoday…WASHINGTON –The average rate on the 30-year fixed mortgage hovered above its record low for a fourth straight week. But cheap mortgage rates have done little to boost home sales or refinancing.
Freddie Mac says the rate on the 30-year fixed loan fell to 3.98% percent from 4% the previous week. Seven weeks ago, it dropped to a record low of 3.94%, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research.
