This morning I checked out http://www.charlotteobserver.com, and one of the articles caught my eye. It was entitled "'Steal a mansion' at foreclosure auctions". The article describes how some buyers are getting some great deals relative to what the property used to be worth when they are buying at a foreclosure auction. Though an auction is certainly not for everyone depending on the buyers' level of experience with auctions and their knowledge of the true market value of the property they are bidding on, auctions can certainly provide an opportunity for savvy … (0 comments)

Well, another month has gone by in 2009, and unfortunately for the Charlotte Real Estate Market, it appears to have moved in the wrong direction for people who have their home for sale. September followed a historical trend of increasing inventory compared to August. With the First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit in full force through September, I was optimistic that we might see a different trend this year; but that didn't play out. According to the latest statistics of real estate for sale listed on the Charlotte Region MLS, inventory dipped slightly in August, continuing its downward trend of the last several months...

... though the results were mixed over the various price ranges.
