Roller-Bladder-Statues-Public-Art-St Joseph MO - 03/31/10 11:03 PM
The three skaters statues (roller bladders) is located at Corby Pond, where Northwest Parkway and Corby Parkway meet.  Donated by the Bradley Family Trust, the adorable statues are mimicking children skating along the parkway in St Joseph. 

"Little fairies" periodically dress up the skaters with hats, scarf's, clothing, and specific holiday attire.  The little fairies are unknown to the community, but very much appreciated as it gives them a new look and a makes for a new conversation.

For over 30 years the 36th Street Food and Drink served St Joseph as one of the finest restaurants in town. 
(Sorry, the photo of the building below is a older photo that I happen to have and could not find a better one.)

Recently the building and land was sold.
Last week it became reality to local residents as the building became the victim of the wrecking ball.



 
Looking toward the future, the popular 36th Street Food & Drink Restaurant has relocated to Mitchell Park Plaza.

NCAA National Championships..Elite Eight..St Joseph MO 64506 - 03/13/10 01:02 AM
The NCAA Women's Division II Elite 8 Basketball Championship will be hosted at the St Joseph Civic Arena starting March 22. 
Teams have already begun battling it out for the title, 8 of them will make it to the finals here in St Joseph, competing to determine who will be the 2010 National Champion! 
Players, coaches and fans from all over the United States will be in St Joseph to support their home teams. 
The St Joseph community is thrilled about hosting this Championship and our hometown pride will help them fill the Civic Arena in front of the National Spotlight!

Think Green--Recycle Your Rooftop...Ideker Inc....St Joseph MO 64506 - 03/12/10 12:40 PM
Everyone is looking for ways to go green and a local company is doing just that, turning trash into treasure, specifically black gold!  
 
Ideker, Inc. is collecting old asphalt shingles from roofs and recycling the shingles into asphalt for our roads. 
They are keeping asphalt shingles out of our landfills and saving contractors money at the same time. 
Roof tear-offs account for an estimated 11 million tons or about 53 million cubic yards of landfill waste each year and it currently costs around $30 per ton to dump at the landfill.  The old shingles are 15 to 23 percent asphalt … (0 comments)

Team Calloway is personally instructed and owned by Rob Calloway, 14 time Professional Boxing Champion and 2005 WBF Heavy Weight World Champion in Australia.
