active rain: ActiveRain Membership Surpasses the Number of RE/MAX Associates - 09/08/08 09:31 PM
A few days ago, a HUGE milestone was hit. ActiveRain's membership actually surpassed the total number of agents that are associated with RE/MAX.
RE/MAX has 107,093 membersin 6995 offices in more than 65 countries (I just happened to be on their main site this evening looking at stuff pertaining to my move). I'm not sure how many countries ActiveRain is in, but I think it's still just the U.S. and Canada, and we're sitting pretty at 107,975 members.
I love that I have associated myself with two top dogs in this industry.

How great is your life? Do you ever wonder how you stack up to others in your level of happiness? Since people liked the grammar quiz yesterday, I found this quiz and thought it would be interesting to see how others score.
I didn't actually score very high. I think the item that brought me down was the question about friends as I don't have many "close" friends and need/want more.
It's strange because there's that old saying that says something about how other people can't make you happy, you can only make yourself happy... but I've got to tell you, … (16 comments)

WOW! Can you believe it? I check my emails yesterday, as I do every 2 seconds, and I get the ActiveRain newsletter. I usually skim through it fairly quickly, but then head to the featured blog pages if a title caught my attention. I was scrolling and scrolling and about to click out of that and into my next email when I saw a face I recognized.
It was MY face! I was highlighted in the Member Spotlight section. They even mentioned my birthday and my daughter. How very interesting. I had just assumed that they were taking excerpts from the … (15 comments)

I received a call a couple of weeks ago from a home owner asking for a listing appointment. Her home is currently listed on the market, and she's in a city further north than what I usually take listings in, so I asked her how she found me... THANK YOU ACTIVE RAIN!
I also asked her if she thought the house hadn't sold because of the agent, or because of the house. She asked what I meant about it being the house's fault. I asked some leading questions, and it looks like it is partially the house's fault for it not selling, … (22 comments)

According to an article published today in The Dallas Morning News, Blogging is becoming more popular with Real Estate Agents.
What I find interesting is that the article states that there are only about 500-1000 agents blogging right now "according to industry estimates."
"According to industry estimates"?? Where did they get this estimate from? ActiveRain alone has over 5000 agent members, not including the members from other branches of the real estate industry.
