Why can't it just RAIN in Bee Cave TX?? It rained in parts of Austin yesterday and the news even said Lakeway had 0.13 inches of rain, and they're just a couple of minutes away. Here is what my sidewalk looked like after 5 minutes...
And after 20 minutes, this is all the rain that came through my gutters. Pretty sad that it wasn't enough to even poor out the splash pad... the drought is still on...
Now, my car has streaks because I can't park in the garage because the broken boat is in there for another week or so. … (11 comments)

I think Summer is now officially over in Austin TX. We had 85 days in triple digits!! The old record was 69 days, and we didn't just break it, we smashed it!! And today was in the mid 90's. The rest of the week shows the temperatures going down to the low 90's. It's still hot here in Austin, but it's not 100 degrees anymore! That is a record that I never want to come close to again! Lake Austin is a constant level lake, so even though Austin TX is having a very bad drought right now, there is still water in the lake. We usually go to Lake Travis, but all the boat ramps on Lake Travis are closed because the water is low there. Lake Austin is really just a "river", but history calls it a lake.

Austin TX Weather has been crazy H-O-T all summer. September 1 is supposed to be the start of Fall, but we're still seeing triple digits here. It's been 78 days of triple digits to be exact. It's official, August 2011 is the HOTTEST month EVER in Austin with an average temperature of 91.6 degrees. Funny, I'm thinking we just went through this... oh yes, we were the hottest month ever in July 2011 with 89.7 degrees... I think I would kill for the cooler days of July over what we had in August! Austin TX Weather Broke the TRIPLE digit Record yesterday set back in 1925 with 70 days over 100!! I rather just move on from this record heat, but look at what the rest of the week is supposed to look like...
YIKES! Won't the heat go away?! At least, can we have some hot, humid rain to go with the heat as our lakes are too low?! Right now, Lake Travis is at its fourth lowest level ever of 635.18 feet. Yes, it was another scorcher... today was day 67 of triple digits. Austin TX weather officially moved into the third position after a tie of 66 days of triple numbers yesterday. And yes, there is a record of 68 days from 2009, so tomorrow would just be another tie as we move into second place...
I was up in Dallas this weekend, where it was just as hot. Watching their news reminded me of their #2 ranking of 56 days of triple digits. That was the year I graduated college, 1998, and it was so miserable going to interviews in … (7 comments)

Today is day 66 of triple degree days. We moved into third place with the all time most days over 100 in Austin TX weather history! Second place is 68 days, and that will be tied on Monday. The all time record is 69 days which will be tied on Tuesday, and then BROKEN on Wednesday!! At this point, there is no turning back. I remember in 2009 when we hit 68 days and then we had 98 and 99 a few more times, but never hit 69 days. This year is different. We will definitely break this record!!

It's heating up in Austin TX! Heating up? Isn't it already hot? How could it get any hotter? Did you see the forecast for this week? Highs at 107 and 108, not including the heat index. Austin TX Weather is very inconsistent. Last year, in the summer of 2009, we had 68 days over 100 degrees. It became the hottest summer on record, though the actual record for the number of 100+ degree days was 69 days. As of today's date last year, we had already had 35 days over 100 degrees. Basically, we would have just made it past the half way point of misery for the summer! However, what has this year been doing?? The summer of 2010 in Austin TX, thus far, has been fairly tame. Could you image anything else possibly going wrong with my house?? Take a look at this...
There are many valves exploding throughout the neighborhood, and thus far, all are the same builder, imagine that!! I had my husband knock on this guy's door and let him know. He just moved in a couple of weeks ago and we hadn't had a chance to meet him yet.
Ours exploded before the shutoff valve, so the only other shutoff is the main water line to the house. We have been without water for about an hour, and since it's Saturday, who knows … (26 comments)

Did you get out and see yesterday's Blue Moon in the sky?I posted a picture of the Blue Moon here on my previous post, but I also wanted to show you some of the other pictures I captured. As I mentioned, I had tried taking pictures with every different "scene" I have on my camera like, night time, fireworks, sunset... but I couldn't get anything to work well. I wonder if the Blue Moon was being taken over by an Alien Ship. I mean, how else can you explain the shape of the moon when we all know it's round...

Today is Blog Action Day. This is the day every blogger across the world is supposed to write on the same topic. This year's topic is Climate Control.
How is the climate effecting us or me personally? This was the hottest summer ever recorded in Austin TX's history. Including the overnight hours, where it's supposed to be cooler weather, our temperatures averaged over 89 degrees.
We had 68 days over 100 degrees and most of those were at 106 and 107 degrees. We were 1 day short of the record for 69 days over 100 degrees that was set way back … (7 comments)

This was a very HOT Summer yet, Austin TX Weather Missed the Record! But in fact, it was the hottest Summer ever recorded!! The 2009 average temperature for June 1 - August 31 was 89.1 degrees. That includes the overnight temperatures! Each and every day was miserable, especially since 2008 had the second hottest average at 86.7 degrees. Within all these hot days, we were trying to break the all time record of 69 days over 100 degrees. At day 48, it looked like an easy record to break. My daughter gets me up early every morning, and so many mornings, the sunset looked awesome, but I was always too tired to take a picture. This morning, I made sure the camera was by the balcony so I wouldn't have to look for it, and I just went out there and shot this.
