After months of talking about this relocation to Austin, TX, we finally put our house on the market. What an ordeal!! I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more. Whenever I was finished with one room, "someone" would make a mess again and it would have to be cleaned again.
I took 180 pictures yesterday in order to get enough pictures for the virtual tour and still photos for the MLS. Then, my listing agent also came over and took some pictures. I'm not sure how many he took.

My community, Woods of SpringCreek in Richardson, TX finally received the turnabout they've been talking about for years. Telecom was a dead-end street, but it was never finished off because the plans were to make it a through street.
With enough support from the homeowners, we convinced the City of Richardson to not allow it to be a through street and to keep the traffic away from our small, quiet community. They then agreed to connect two different streets in order to make traffic flow from Plano into Richardson, Los Rios and North Star.

Richardson, TX's Corportate Challenge is almost upon us. The deadline for the registration fee is July 31 at 5pm. The Corporate Challenge is set up like the Olympics where you have different events on different days. The Opening Ceremony will be on August 22 with events starting on August 23. The Closing Ceremony (Party) will be on October 22. Yes, this is a 2 month long challenge. Is your company signed up?

Money raised goes to the Special Olympics. In 2007, the teams raised $90,100.

city of richardson: Richardson Heights Park Gets a New Look - 07/15/08 12:11 PM
Out with the old and in with the new. Richardson's Heights Park will be getting new playground equipment. On average, playground equipment should be replaced every 20 years, and the Heights Park equipment is 40 years old. The replacement had been postponed many times because the neighbors like the equipment and thought the pieces looked different and unique to today's parks.
However, after reviewing all the equipment, they have come to the conclusion that the equipment is a safety hazard as there are areas where you could get your head stuck, or arms and legs could get entangled.

We had record amounts of rain in May. The last stat I heard was that it was the 15th wettest May on record. However, we are still under Water Conservation Rules throughout most of the DFW area.
Because of the conservation efforts, in just the first quarter alone, we have conserved 16.5% more water than in the first quarter of 2006.
Many people ask why we are still under restrictions when we've had so much rain. The main answer is because our lakes are not all at their main operating level as of yet. Yes, we've had a lot of rain lately, but it … (6 comments)
