facebook: Don't Friend Me and then Spam Me! - 10/18/10 03:38 PM
Just because I friended you on Facebook doesn't mean you can spam me! Am I the only one who finds it annoying that other agents and real estate industry people are friending you only to send you all their multiple of messages a day about their next webinar or their next product or their next website they can build you, etc...? Why do I friend other real estate related people in the first place? To network and make sure they know I'm there in case they have someone they know in Austin or moving to the Austin area. I want to … (18 comments)

facebook: How I Use My ActiveRain Blog to Enhance Relationships - 10/29/09 02:03 PM
I use my blog in many ways to enhance relationships with friends, family, clients, and others across the world wide web, which includes ActiveRain.I've been here at ActiveRain since the beginning, back in the Summer of 2006.  I didn't completely understand the concept of blogging, but gave it a shot.  Weeks and months went on, and I feel I figured it out.  A blog is just a "Web Log" which is like a diary.  I started making my blog more personal, about me and my experiences, instead of just plain real estate information, and the followers came.I'm definitely not afraid to … (12 comments)

facebook: Tweet Lister for Automatic Tweeting of your Listings - 07/02/09 11:13 AM
Have you heard of Tweet Lister? I heard about it last week, and immediately posted a listing on it to see what would happen.

It's pretty neat because you just enter the address, and pick a couple of features of the home, and the tweet is automatically created for you.
You can enter a link for pictures or a virtual tour and that's included also.
Then, you can tell it how often you want the tweet to go out.  I put mine as every 2 days, and low and behold, every other day, the tweet goes through without me doing … (11 comments)

facebook: Controlling the Facebook Ads you See - 07/02/09 11:06 AM
Did you know that you can control the ads that you see on the right when you're on Facebook? I had no idea until I saw an ad that I so didn't like, and I had my mouse over it, and I saw these little faint graphics of a thumbs up and down.
I clicked the thumb down to see what would happen, and then another screen appeared asking me why I didn't like the ad.  I thought that was pretty cool... I wonder if the feedback goes back to the person who created the ad, or if it's just for … (12 comments)

facebook: Facebook Requests are Getting Out of Control! - 06/22/09 02:46 PM
Is Facebook getting out of control?  Everytime I login, there are more and more requests from people.  I cleared most everything out yesterday, and I login today and here's what I see:

Great, 4 more Friend requests, that's fine and dandy...
What this other stuff?  A food fight?  Why?  Thanks Greg!
"Other Requests" are those silly little Farm town things and flowers in my garden and take this quiz here and this quiz there... who has time to actually do all these requests from people on a daily basis and do your friends get upset if you hit the "ignore" … (23 comments)

facebook: Do You Digg? Yet, another social network... - 04/12/09 04:15 PM
I've been hearing more and more about Digg so I went today to check it out.  I signed up for a profile because isn't that the thing to do these days?  There are so many social networking sites, ActiveRain, Twitter, Facebook, Wanna Network, Linked In, etc... and I was really reluctant to sign up for another, but I did.
However, upon getting there and trying to find people, I'm finding that not as many people "Digg" as I thought.  I went through my entire subscription list from AR, and only 4 people were on Digg.

For those on Digg, what … (14 comments)

facebook: Please Welcome My Old Friend Robert Bailey - 11/18/08 07:17 PM
I hope everyone will give a nice warm welcome to my friend Robert Bailey.  I've known Robert since 6th grade.  He has a twin brother, Richard.  I have no seen Robert in years, but thanks to joining Facebook yesterday, we have reconnected, and guess what, he's in the real estate industry!
Robert works with Primelending here in the Dallas area.  If I was staying in Dallas, I know I would be working with him.  But to all my Dallas friends, keep Robert in mind when your buyers need to get approved!
He hasn't started his blog yet, but I'm sure with … (15 comments)

facebook: Are You on Facebook? Come Find Me! - 11/18/08 01:47 PM

Well, I gave in last night, and joined the ever looming, Facebook.  Are you on Facebook?
Thus far, it's a tad frustrating as every time I want to make a change to my profile, previous information disappears or changes.  For example, it didn't like my Re/Max office name.  It kept trying to put me in the Lubbock office.  Huh?  Also, instead of Re/Max, it had me working at my first brokerage, Ebby Halliday.  I had to change this 6 times for it to stick.
It took me some time, but I found a Re/Max group, and I also found the … (20 comments)

This blog is to help educate Buyers, Sellers and even other Realtors across the country.  Each market is different and the way Real Estate is done is different.  Austin Real Estate is completely different than Dallas, California and Florida and everywhere else in between.  Some times there will be other things besides real estate as I like to rant and rave as much as the next!!  Come back often!
