Forbes has another new list and Austin TX is ranked #2 for The Best Cities to Buy a Home Right Now. It's so true! Our Austin Real Estate Market is really pumped up. In many areas, there are multiple offers on most homes, in all different price points. Just this month, I had a multiple offer on a house listed at $112,000 but also on $485,000. Do you know the slogan Don't Mess with Texas? Do you know how it started?  I moved to Texas when I was a kid in the summer of 1984. A few months later is when the Don't Mess with Texas slogan started showing up everywhere and being heard all over the radio. To me, I assumed it had always been around, but we just happened to move at the same time it was starting... Austin TX - Forbes says Austin, from Round Rock to the North down to San Marcus to the South, is #1 Boom Town!  It sounds like they aren't counting Georgetown just North or Round Rock, as Georgetown is holding its own these days with a lot of growth. This ranking is nothing new to Austin TX by now. We've been on several lists recently.  Some of what was taken into account for this Boom Town ranking is the recent census numbers in part with job growth. Austin TX makes another Forbes magazine list for 10 Markets Most Likely to Appreciate. Though we didn't top the list, Austin TX real estate came in third! A real estate research firm, Local Market Monitor, looked at a mix of jobs and growth industries, in addition to markets that were seeing a large influx of population growth prior to the down turn, in which Austin TX saw a 16% population growth in the prior five years.
