ft worth: Foreclosure Rates are Dropping - 04/16/08 08:13 AM
Foreclosures are going down! It's true! It was on the news last night, and I had to pause the TiVo to make sure I wrote down the numbers correctly. The Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex area had a 16% DROP in foreclosures compared to last year. WOW! They compared this to the National foreclosure rate that INCREASED 57%. That is a huge difference. To put the number into perspective, approximately 10,700 houses started the foreclosure procedures last month. For those of you who follow my blogs, this just reiterates what I keep saying, that it doesn't make sense to compare your local market to the

ft worth: Dallas/Ft Worth 2007 Final Numbers - 01/18/08 09:06 AM
Here are the final numbers for the Dallas and Ft Worth areas for 2007: Number of Sales: 80,740% Change Year Ago: -7% Average Price: $202,338% Change Year Ago: +5% Median Price: $149,900% Change Year Ago: +1% Active Listings: 47,668% Change Year Ago: +7% As you can see, the number of sales might be down, but prices are NOT down. Stop watching National News statistics because we aren't following the National trends. Buyers aren't getting 70 cents on the dollar. Prices are still very competetive as an average. Remember, I work all of North Dallas County and Collin County including Richardson, Plano, Allen, Frisco, Carrollton, Garland, Rowlett, McKinney,

ft worth: Texas is Out of the Top 10 of Foreclosures!!! - 08/22/07 03:22 PM
All Texas cities are finally out of the top 10 areas for foreclosures. What a huge jump. Texas, as a whole, has been at number one and number 2 a few times... Dallas is ranked 17th and FtWorth-Arlington area is ranked 13th. So, we're not out of the top 10 by very far, but it's definitely a turn in the right direction! Compared to the first half of 2006, Texas filings were actually down by 13%. All major Texas big city areas were down, except the Ft Worth- Arlington area, which was up 5%... again, it's the lower end properties where the people are typically first time

ft worth: Arlington to get Mass Transit? - 06/19/07 09:47 PM
Arlington, TX is the LARGEST city in the country without a mass transit system in place. You don't have to tell me twice how hard it is to get around Arlington because I went to college there for 4 years. I remember the University had shuttles on the weekends at certain times to take you to shopping and back, but that isn't mass transit. That is a shuttle, bus like vehicle that went up and down Copper St and that's it. Mass Transit has tried to pass in Arlington for many years, since the 70's and no one seems to agree that

ft worth: Ski Resort in the Dallas Area? YES!! - 04/23/07 04:01 PM
There is going to be a ski resort built in Ft. Worth, TX, just west of Dallas. This resort is going to be a Bearfire Resort. Bearfire has several other resorts across the country, but when they're done with this one, it's going to be the largest one built yet. Now, you're probably thinking, It doesn't snow very much in DFW, muchless does it keep a consistently cold temperature during the winter months. Well, these factors won't be of any concern. The "snow" is going to be some kind of carpet called Snowflex that allows for a smooth skiing experience. I've been been
