This has absolutely nothing to do with real estate... - 09/27/11 11:38 AM
I heard on the news this morning that another teenager, a 14 year old boy committed suicide in upstate New York. Why? Because he could no longer endure the constant and heartless harrassing and bullying he was receiving. He dealt with it in school, in his own neighborhood and on line. There was video of this kid and he was such a seemingly sweet guy. He was good looking, caring, made good grades in school, was an only child and he was gay. The whole bullying thing so needs to be gotten under control. There needs to be tougher laws (2 comments)
Feedback on Feedback Post by Amy Shair with Remax United - 09/19/11 12:40 PM
Amy Shaire with Remax United in Durham, NC recently blogged about feedback. Although I thought it was a great topic (wish I'd thought of it, my self), I was NOT believing what was said by some agents in their follow up responses. One person commented that many times their buyer clients don't share any feedback with them. What? How could you not expect, solicit and get feedback from your buyer clients? Don't you want to know what they think about what you're showing them? Are you choosing homes that are what they're looking for? Are you choosing areas they like? Wouldn't (2 comments)
I need a Top Producer Expert! - 09/15/11 01:28 PM
My business partner and I signed up for Top Producer 8i about a month ago. Previous to TP, we had been using ACT! for about 15 years. So, we had to convert over 800 people from ACT! to Top Producer. The first problem was just how long and laborous the conversion has been. But, we're still really struggling with learning the program. I would love to hear from you if you or anyone you know is an expert at TP and live in Southern PA, Northern VA, Maryland, DC or Delaware and, for a fee would be willing to teach me (0 comments)
I still need an Attorney in Detroit - 09/08/11 11:36 AM
Yesterday, I posted/blogged about needing a good real estate attorney in the Detroit Michigan area. Because I'm still pretty new at this, I think what I did was post it for people to see who are only in Michigan...but, I'm not sure. So, today I'm reposting basically the same thing but, I'm going to do it the way I usually do and, hopefully I'll get some responses. I'm trying to help a really nice lady that I met recently who had a short sale in Detroit two years ago. Now, she's being sued for $88k...the deficit amount. I've been involved in (3 comments)
Looking for attorney in Detroit - 09/07/11 02:12 PM
I am in search of a good real estate attorney in the Detriot Michigan area. Over the last few days I met the nicest couple who came here from Detroit two years ago. Unfortunately, they're not able to purchase a home in Maryland yet due to the wife having a short sale back in Detroit, that's still too recent. What else she told me that was very hard to believe is that she's being sued by her former lender for $88,000...the deficit amount on the short sale. My business partner and myself have done about 15 short sale transactions. Never in our (0 comments)
And now you know... - 09/02/11 11:06 AM
With my office being located in Ellicott City, MD I'm fortunate to do a lot of Relocation business. After all, Ellicott City is ideally located between Baltimore and Washington DC. So, when people come to Maryland from other parts of the country, it's nice to be able to share with them not only the best places to get crabs (because we're known for our crabs) but, also a little bit of history about our State. Maryland, was so named by King Charles I when he gave a charter for the land to Lord Baltimore but, only with the understanding that the (2 comments)
Changes in our industry (and there's been a ton since I got my license in 1986) are obviously done with the right thought in mind...protecting and promoting the interest of the client and public. And, we're all for that. However, I'm guessing that most of you have seen and are aware of the new Federal Trade Commission Ruling regarding MAP (The Mortgage Acts and Practices-Advertising Rule) that came into effect on August 19th, 2011, and makes it a "violation ...for any person to make any material misrepresentations, expressly or by implication, in any commercial communication, regarding any term of (3 comments)
