Just recently, I read a post by Mark MacKenzie titled Mortgage Purchase Applications Sink To 8-Week Low, which discussed how mortgage purchase applications have dropped despite the fact that the 30-year fixed rate mortgage has been dropping. One would think that this would be enough to entice those first time buyers who have been sitting on the fence about buying to get off their butts and get into the market.
