positive words: Monday Morning Motivation

Monday Morning MotivationOpportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. --- Thomas EdisonWith just a little more than a week left in the first quarter of the year and today being the first full day of Spring now would be a good time to put on our overalls and go to work. Be it in our garden or in our business. We have come through a weird and wild winter with loads of snow and rain and just flat out cold weather in many parts of the country. It seemed like it (8 comments)

- 02/16/11 08:59 PM
Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day......What a follow-up to yesterday, do a favor for a grouch day. Always February 17th, and you know what to do...perform a few random acts of kindness. Almost any kind deed will do. It is highly recommend you perform kind acts on as many people as you can. This is a favorite day of many people. I think it is because people like the idea of showing a little kindness to others. It’s a fun and good thing to do. And, they like being on the receiving end of this day as well. It makes both (10 comments)

Motivational Monday 1/17/2011....... "My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging." Hank Aaron When things start going south how do you respond to the difficult times? Hank Aaron had a positive attitude about being in a slump, he kept swinging! Just because a slump comes and you know that they will decide today to suit up, get into the game and keep swinging. Hank Aarons' philosophy could be why he got the nickname Hammerin' Hank, what will be your (7 comments)
positive words: Loose Lips Sink Ships,
- 01/04/11 08:51 PM
Loose Lips Sink Ships, I have heard the adage Loose Lips Sink Ships all of my life. I have tried to live by it as much as possible. I am not going to say that I have a perfect track record when it comes to holding my tongue at times. Today I went into a chicken restaurant in St. Charles, MO and was the first one in the store. You know where this is going don't you? When I entered the restaurant there were 2 employees, on the clock, and 1 other employee, out of uniform, probably off standing in the (12 comments)
positive words: Motivational Monday.....Words, Words and More Words
- 01/02/11 09:42 PM
Motivational Monday.....Words, Words and More Words T.S Eliot is quoted saying "For last year's words belong to last year's language. And next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning." Think about it for a minute, negative self-talk can be dangerous to our business. We need to leave the negative talk from last year in last year. Last year is in the past, we have been given another chance in the new year to do things better. A do-over so to speak! What voice will be given to this year's words? The do-over that (12 comments)

positive words: Every now and then we just have to STOP.......
- 04/03/09 02:31 AM
Every now and then we just have to STOP....... And smell the roses. Earlier today Gary Woltal wrote a post titled " I Can't Watch The World Fast Enough.". In which he talks about the speed of the world that we now live in. We are constantly trying to cram more things into the day and still fall further and further behind. It's kinda like the hurrier I go the more behinder I get. Gary talked about all of the speed of the internet and all that we live with in that realm. Then we have our day to day with real (71 comments)
positive words: Moving into 2009 and some random thought on Failure and Attitude...
- 12/26/08 01:22 PM
Moving into 2009 and some random thought on Failure and Attitude... We have all listened to a lot of negative this year and probably been in on some pretty negative conversations around the water cooler or with our clients. This has not been an easy year for a lot of us in real estate for one reason or another. So, what are we going to do in 2009 that is different than 2008? We can do the negative self talk and eventually start to believe it or we can change the way we are looking at things and do something about (28 comments)
positive words: FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION
- 09/27/08 07:32 AM
FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION We have all heard this old adage, if we fail to plan, we plan to fail. Right? But there are other quotes about failure and these will let you know that it is how we look at failure that determines success. We are hit with a failure mentality every day, as a matter of fact there have been times that I have been ready to throw the TV out the door. Why didn't I , I am so glad that you ask. I had two things that stood in my way, 1. The darn thing was (58 comments)
positive words: So how's the ‘tude dude or dudette?
- 09/24/08 03:24 PM
So how's the ‘tude dude or dudette? I have compiled some very interesting quotes on the subject of attitude and thought that I would share them with you. •1. A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright •2. I happen to feel that the degree of a person's intelligence is directly reflected by the number of conflicting attitudes she can bring to bear on the same topic. Lisa Alther •3. I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for (18 comments)

Naked Ladies, Hard Bodies and Bodies in Motion Moving Toward Being The Biggest Winner As we grow older our bodies will become flabby and it doesn't want to move. When we were younger we weren't embarrassed about showing our bodies off to anybody that would care to look. Hence the bikini, what there is of it nowadays, muscle shirts or no shirt at all!! On the TV series The Biggest Loser they have several people that will keep everyone moving. One of those people is Alison Sweeney. I kinda think of her as my office manager, in a manner of speaking. positive words: Have you ever had a dream?
- 08/03/08 04:39 AM
Have you ever had a dream? Ever have a BAD DAY? Ever been told that you can't do something by more than one person? We all have at one time or another, right? Have you ever heard of Daniel Ruettiger? Here is a young man that was told constantly that his dream would never come true. He had a very simple dream and that was to play football for coach Ara Paraseghian and Notre Dame. He played football in High School and was a team leader. But, he was always too small to make the team of his dreams. Once he (16 comments)
positive words: What pulls at your Heart?
- 07/30/08 04:03 PM
What pulls at your Heart? There are a couple of things that pull at the strings of my heart! I bet that you would never hear a man say something on this line, huh? Well you have now I have to go and explain myself. So for the purpose of this writing I will only focus on one of the few things that tug at my heart. I was watching Tuesday nights' edition of Americas' Got Talent. Ok, I have watched just about all of this year's offerings so far. I have a soft spot for folks that make it and (10 comments)
positive words: What an amazing dad.....
- 07/05/08 11:50 PM
I am not into really passing along emails that I receive however, this one is an exception to that rule. My daughter sent this to me this morning and I really felt the need to pass it along to my AR family. Some of you may have already seen the story but for those of you that have not I would say before you watch the video get your hankies out you just might need one or two.
What an amazing dad..... A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, (24 comments)
positive words: How do you see yourself???
- 06/04/08 03:39 PM
So, how do you see yourself??? Lou Cassar says "You become what you see yourself to be." So that leads to the question, how do you see yourself? Do you see yourself as a real Loser? As someone that couldn't sell water to a man in the hot desert? Or, someone that couldn't win an argument even if you paid the other person to let you win! Or maybe someone that could write a contract for $10,000 over list price and not get it accepted? Maybe, you are someone that sees themselves as an agent that couldn't get your parents (16 comments)
We all look at things in different ways. We each have our perceptions about how we have done our job and those that are our brokers, clients, customers and prospects see them totally different! Dad burn it, why is it like that I know I did everything possible to get the house sold. Now everybody is telling me that I could have done more now the listing has gone some where else. My buyer tells me that I didn't stay in touch. I was sending them the wrong information so now they have found another agent. When (12 comments)
positive words: Just 5 minutes more, please............
- 05/31/08 06:22 AM
Have you ever wanted just 5 more minutes? Me too.......I have gone thru days that if there was just a couple more minutes I could have this or that finished and then I could go home. Due to the day to day things that come our way we let the work pressures get to us and then the deadlines! It seem like I have done this all of my life. Now at 64 I want all of those extra minutes back and I can't have them!!! Another life lesson is learned. Five More Minutes! While at the park one day, a (23 comments)
positive words: A Father Means So Many Things.......

When I first read this I immediately thought of Jason Crouch down in Austin, Texas. I have been subscribed to his blog for about 3 months now and have enjoyed reading about his family and how they relate with each other. He has not been consulted about this post so I could be sued, gosh I hope not. Jason is a great example and I would just like to recognize it and say thank you. I would also like to say thank you to my grandfather who sacrificed a lot to raise both my brother and me and poured his life (19 comments)
positive words: Attitude Determines Attitude, Another Motivational Moment...
- 05/20/08 04:57 AM
This is yet another motivational topic that I found in my motivational topic folder, so I hope it will help someone today. The author is unknown. These two photos were taken at the same time this morning, the cloudy sky was out of the north and I turned around to the south and took the blue sky photo. So I had a choice of what my attitude was going to be today just based on the sky. Care to guess which one I choose?
Attitude Determines Attitude I woke up early today, excited over all I get to (25 comments)
positive words: A very precious and valuable commodity
- 05/18/08 01:33 AM
As I was reading through my motivational file, once again, I found this article that I had completely forgot about. We all have the same amount of it, complain that there is not enough of it and wonder where it went at the end of the day. So I am sure there are some of you that have read this in the past or have heard a national trainer use this in one of their presentations. But, I thought that I would share it with you in case you never have read or heard it. TIME! Imagine there is a bank that (11 comments)
