real estate: Honey, I'm Home - 05/28/09 12:15 PM
I love being a soccer mom. Not only do I get to watch what is probably the best game on earth, but I get to watch my daughter play it, cheer her on and catch up with friends, all while spending time in the nice warm sun. Another great perk is, because her tournaments takes us all over, I get to explore different parts of Florida and enjoy the sights just like any other tourist visiting Florida. We've gone to beaches we might not otherwise see, visited colleges that she may be interested in attending, and just drive

real estate: To American Soldiers And Their Families Everywhere - 05/25/09 12:45 PM
I am not much for long, eloquently worded, mushy expressions of gratitude but on this day I do want to tell every soldier, past and present, on the field and off, over seas and here in America, along with their families, that from the bottom of my heart, I thank you. I thank you for the selflessness and sacrifice each and every one of you have made to keep us here at home safe. It's your passion and desire to protect America, its ideals and and its freedoms that make all of you military men and women, heroes Today,

real estate: Superior Schools - Seminole County, Florida - 05/21/09 03:39 PM
For those of you thinking about moving to Florida over the summer but have heard horrible things about the Florida school systems, let me set your mind at ease. Yes, all schools are experiencing cut backs and Florida's are no exception but here in Seminole County, schools are becoming creative in how they're cutting budgets in order to keep their exceptional reputation as one of the best school systems in Florida! To be specific, the following are the actual grades Seminole County Schools have received the past two years. Elementary Schools: The number of schools receiving 2007

real estate: Life In The Slow Lane - 04/07/09 01:59 PM
I just drove through a neighborhood in Oviedo named Live Oak Reserve. What a beautiful area! From the beautiful water fountain at the entrance to the shade covered park toward the rear, this development leaves nothing to be desired. Located in the middle of Live Oaks is the aquatic center and clubhouse and dotted throughout the neighborhood are tennis courts, basketball courts a volleyball pit and soccer fields. It has nice wide sidewalks for bike riding, jogging or a casual stroll all of which you can take a break from while relaxing on the viewing deck overlooking Horseshoe

real estate: It's All In How You Look At It - 03/26/09 04:44 PM
I heard Mike Huckabee speaking the other morning and he said something so incredibly simplistic in nature, it was practically over my head. He said that for all the economic, religious, political, and racial chaos in the world right now, it's easy to get swept up in what you lost; money, beliefs, power, but if you could take one minute when you get up in the morning or before you go to sleep at night to be grateful for what you have you will begin to see a change in the way you look at life. List 5 things for which

real estate: Blind Faith - 03/25/09 12:00 PM
The day after President Obama's news conference and everyone is talking about what's right or what's wrong with what he said. You see it on every news channel, hear it on every talk radio station, and read about it in every newspaper. Today, however, I don't want to take issue with what the president said but the people who are talking about what he said. I understand and am actually proud of the passion with which people are following politics. It bothers me though, that for those of us that might agree with some of President Obama's comments but question others are chastised

The Scenery We recently purchased our Central Florida home that sits on 5 acres. The most wonderful thing about living here in Florida is the wildlife. We have several families of wildlife that either live on our property or are frequent visitors. These are just two. This is the Sandhill Crane family that lives in our backyard This is the armadillo that also lives in our yard and loves to taunt our dogs Don't you just love Spring! Your

real estate: Why Parents Drink - 03/20/09 07:20 AM
The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees was absent but had not phoned in sick one day. Needing to have an urgent problem with one of the main computers resolved, he dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper. ' Hello ? ' 'Is your daddy home?' he asked. ' Yes ,' whispered the small voice. May I talk with him?' The child whispered, ' No .' Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, 'Is your Mummy there?' ' Yes ' 'May I talk with her?' Again the small

real estate: Another Florida Wow Factor - 03/16/09 10:40 AM
We here in Florida are not only blessed with this beautiful weather, it's in the 80's again today, entertainment, world class higher education and our ever growing medical industry, but science and technology surround us regardless of where you live. A perfect example of this was the space shuttle launch last night. It was definitely something to behold even if you're not a space enthusiast. Here is a picture my daughter took last night from our front yard. Keep in mind we're about an hour away from NASA. If you look closely on the left of the picture just above the

real estate: Glued to the Tube - 03/12/09 12:05 PM
I remember whenever my parents turned on the TV, they always wanted to watch the news or some documentary. I grew up thinking, "Geez you're old, turn on something good like Happy Days or Laverne and Shirley." Well the tables have turned and now as it happens, as soon as I walk through the door every night, I turn on the TV and guess what I always have it on, yep you guessed it, the news. For the last year or so I have been glued to news channels like an addict. With all the housing market doom and gloom and end of the world as
