campbell: Ladies Who Launch - 04/17/08 08:39 AM
Ever get the feeling you were suppose to be somewhere and when you got there, you're not sure why???
This happened to me last night.  When I logged onto my computer yesterday morning, I saw a Yelp.com email.  It advertised a meeting taking place in my area, Campbell.  The group is called "Ladies Who Launch".  The email advertised an event for ladies only...
"What/Why:

campbell: San Tomas Area Neighborhood Update - 03/12/08 07:44 AM

The Campbell Planning Commission approved the construction of a new home in the San Tomas Area Neighborhood.  The project is the demolition of a home built in the 1940s and building a two story, 4000 sq ft Mediterranean style house.  This is a sensitive subject for me.  It's true I do not live in this neighborhood, but it sounds like a similar situation I witnessed in Cupertino.
I was raised in tract home in the Garden Gate area of Cupertino.  My parents still reside there.  Over the past 10 to 15 years, the City allowed homeowners to build "monster houses" in … (0 comments)

campbell: My Campbell Favorites - 03/10/08 10:59 AM
I spend so much time in Campbell at many of our establishments I thought I'd give my "thumbs up" for my top 5 favorites this month.
Best restaurant:  Sonoma Chicken
The I enjoy Sonoma Chicken so much is their fast, their menu has variety(something for everyone) and their customer service can't be beat.  I took my dad there a few months ago.  He had picked the wrong chicken sauce for his chicken.  They immediately handed me a new plate with his favorite sauce.  No questions asked.
Best breakfast:  Stacks
Once again, they are fast and the atmosphere is pretty down home.  My favorite … (0 comments)

campbell: Foreclosures Still on the Rise...Why Aren’t the Lenders Helping? - 03/07/08 08:43 AM
As we all know, mortgage delinquencies have risen sharply, especially among riskier loans since 2006.  Even though foreclosures have increased, the overall ratio of foreclosures in our marketplace is low.  Some areas felt the pinch of foreclosures more than others.  We've been lucky here in the Campbell are.  The public records reflect few homeowners losing their homes in a lender's Trustee Sale.
Those who know me have heard my complaints about the media making this issue bigger than it is.  I do feel most of our problems could be directly related to the Media driving public hysteria.  Let's face it the doom … (4 comments)

campbell: Leash Free Dog Park in Campbell CA - 03/06/08 10:47 PM
Well most of us know there is a dog park in Campbell, which is divided into an enclosed area for small dogs and one for big dogs.  Both dog areas are partially covered with grass and partially with wood chips. There are logs and boulders for the dogs to play on, trees and awnings for shade, benches, water fountains and garbage cans with litter bags. It's a great place to take kids and teach them how to interact with our four legged friends.  We take our two American Eskimo's, Kimo and Bruiser, as well as the grandkids for an hour or … (2 comments)

campbell: Campbell CA - Green Beer At Katie Bloom's? - 02/26/08 10:40 PM

I'm not sure if they're serving green beer, but I can tell you the atmosphere at Katie Bloom's is a blast. Great Irish food, lively entertaiment.  You may even be inclinded to do an Irish Jig.
 Please drink sensibly
Did you know...

campbell: Campbell honors Blendz as 2007 Business of the Year! - 02/24/08 12:20 PM

Blendz was selected as 2007 Business of the year by the Campbell Chamber of Commerce.
Matt Phipps, president and CEO of the business has grown his stores to a total of 15 locations in various stages.  He currently has 15 employees in his Campbell location alone.
I've personally worked with Matt on several fundraising committees.  Matt is always willing to help with any request large or small when it's for a good cause.  Blendz is a strong supporter for Campbell's Relay for Life event held in July.
Way to go Matt Phipps and Blendz!

campbell: Volunteering In Campbell California - 02/23/08 11:23 AM

Come join us and make the City of Campbell an even better place to live!
Campbell is a great place to spend your time. We are a fairly small community with a quaint Historical Downtown.  The City of Campbell is proud of its annual community celebrations and special events. Some events require hundreds of volunteers to ensure success. For example, the Carol of Lights Celebration in December includes a community parade, fee events such as a snow area for kids to play in, and several jumpy houses. This celebration relies heavily on volunteers and donors to make it a success.
Why would … (1 comments)
