Wednesday morning Alamo Title sponsored a Builder Lender Forum lead by Mark Sprague with Residential Strategies.  I was one of 4 Realtors to participate representing the realtor community.  What an eye opener!
Under discussion were several hot topics.  One issue the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC) was highly debated.  Of course everyone agreed there is room for improvement in the way pressure is applied to appraisers to make value on a property.  However, the consensus felt the new code is not proving to hold protection for the homebuyers, mortgage investors and the housing market.  In fact it is … (8 comments)

I just read a great book by David Baldacci called "The WholeTruth".
My husband, Gene, refers to me as the "Spin Doctor!"  He always says I look for the positive in all situations.  I say if you dwell on the negative that is the course you will follow.  Play negative tapes in your head and that's what will come to you!
In the book "The Whole Truth" there are companies called  PM's (Perception Managers).  They create facts and then sell them to the world as the truth.  The problem is a negative untruth can be established so quickly and … (27 comments)

RELAY FOR LIFE SCORES!! - 06/09/09 11:46 AM
                                                                         What a perfect evening we had to participate in the Relay For Life event at the Jewish Community Center in Austin, Texas!  It had been a warm day but there was a great breeze and as the night wore on a full moon!
Our "Mad Hatter" group from Coldwell Banker United Realtors of 20 wore an assortment of hats,
 
 
 
walked the laps, ate fruit kabobs, pizza and revelled in raising money for a cause dear to our hearts.

Wednesday was the last day of school in the Round Rock School District and graduation was Wednesday evening at 8:30pm for Westwood High School. 
 
Thursday morning when Gene was putting a Contract Pending/Taking Back-Up rider on one of our signs, he spotted a post celebration of another school year ending!

Our Coldwell Banker NW office is participating this Saturday, in the RELAY FOR LIFE event!  Our team "THE MAD HATTERS" will participate in the fun-filled overnight event that celebrates survivorship and will raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society.
It's going to be held at the Dell Jewish Community Center on 7300 Hart Lane in Austin, TX 78731 this Saturday evening June 6,2009 beginning at 7p until 7a Sunday, June 7th.

Memorial Day has come and gone but we have not forgotten a great fund raising event held in Trail Head Park in Canyon Creek

 
 
With no advertising other than banners and a great deal of enthusiam Boy Scout Troop 192 in Canyon Creek held a fundraising pancake breakfast on Memorial Day!
 
 
 

 
 
Sausage, shredded potatoes and pancakes were offered up.

He Was Beaming Like A Lighthouse! - 06/02/09 11:52 AM
Last year our oldest grandson, Jeffery, took the TAKS test (Texas Standardized test which students must pass to move to the next grade) 3 times before passing!  He was very nervous but vowed he could conquer this measurement of the curriculum taught.  Jeffery was diagnosed with dyslexia and has endured several years of classes to help overcome this problem.
Jeffery worked diligently throughout this year and was inducted last night into his middle schools NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY!
