I can't tell you how many times I receive an email or a call from  my sellers with this question " Did the agent who called show my house? They did not leave a business card!" I purchased plaques that say "Agents, please leave your card" for each of our listings to remind agents to please leave a card as a courtesy to my sellers.
An agent calls to say they are going to show my sellers home.  I instruct my sellers to  always leave to give them privacy with their clients.  Many times upon their return they are unsure if the agent has been there … (36 comments)

It's Not Just any Door ~ (Almost) Speechless Sunday - 01/23/11 08:23 AM

While in Geneva, Switzerland we walked and walked in Old Town soaking up the ambiance.  I was intrigued with this 400 year old door that is a service entrance (yes I know there are no stairs) on the side of the “Les Armures Restaurant”. 
It is known as one of the oldest in the city and has become one of Geneva’s favorite restaurants.  The Swiss specialties such as raclette or fondue are served in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.  This door is still in use by using a plank to walk-up for deliveries. Lunch was wonderful!

When visiting the Place du Molard in Geneva, Switzerland we were taken with the two thousand resin paving stones engraved and dispersed throughout the city center walkways.
The simple words of everyday life are written in 9 languages and symbolize the multi-cultural character of Geneva.  The pavers are lucent during the daytime, but beome luminescent at nightfall.
The  installation underlines the pedestrian character and history of the Place du Molard. There are people everywhere: pedestrians, tradesman, florists, café owners and their guests.  It is a sight to see!

Recently we were able to visit the site of the "Broken Chair" which we have heard about for years. Once a muddy field, the plaza has recently been renovated into a beautiful area with fountains on both sides.

One afternoon on our trip to Switzerland we hopped off a ferry on Lake Geneva to see the internationally famous "Horloge fleurie" or "Flower Clock" which is the symbol of the Geneva watch industry and is located on the left bank at the edge of the "Jardin Anglais" known as the "English Garden".  I can only imagine what it must look like in the spring and summer with 6,500 plants and flowers!  It is a masterpiece of technology and floral art.  The seconds hand is touted to be the largest in the world (it is more than 2.5 meters long).

Lake Geneva is the largest lake in central Europe and is shared by both Switzerland and France drawing many visitors each year.  In Lake Geneva, the "Genovases Maritime Ferries" run every 10 minutes.  They have 3 ferries: an M-1 that takes you to Old Town, the M-2 that takes you to the flower clock and the M-3 that takes you to the yacht harbor.  We hopped on the M-2 to go see the flower clock and stepped off and marveled at the Cunard Ducks sleeping on only one leg on the cold metal wharf!!

One of the residents in our community emailed with a question concerning a sister who lives in Michigan and is looking at a particular condo to purchase. The sister was told the development was not warrantable and she would have to pay cash if she wanted to purchase a unite.  He wanted to know what circumstances came into play that caused this restricion to be implemented.

To ring in 2011 properly Geno and I took off on a travel adventure (our favorite thing to do) to Lake Geneva, Switzerland and Frankfort, Germany.
