Tomorrow night at 6pm is the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at The Domain in NW Austin. This is always a festive event that is well attended!! Some stores join in by offering specials throughout the day. If you’re looking for a great way to kick-off the holiday season with family and friends, why not plan on having dinner at one of the many restaurants at The Domain while enjoying the youth choir, fireworks and the lighting of the 40 foot Great Tree! I know back-up contracts can end up helping the seller negotiate repairs with a back-up firmly in place. They take time to write up and submit and negotiate (keep in mind time is minimal if you use Docusign).
Yes, you could be raising the hopes of your buyers and they might get disappointed. However you would have exhausted every available avenue to secure the home they hopelessly fell in love with and could end up getting it! The risk appears to outweigh your time in going the extra mile for your client. It's what I would do representing a buyer.One … (18 comments)

The good news continues for Canyon Creek! October sales in 2012 were up 167% over October home sales in 2011. An element that plays in the increased numbers is lenders are taking longer to complete loans. Several homes were scheduled to close in September and were not able to be processed and closed until October. Also many buyers made offers on homes after Labor Day which meant an October closing.

In Texas we can apply for a Homestead exemption if you own and live in the home on January first of the tax year! Residents of the Master planned community, Canyon Creek, located off Hwy 620 between Hwy 2222 and Anderson Mill Road are taking action to stay ahead of any possible brush fires! Homes backing to buffer and greenbelts are of a concern if something were to ignite the brush.

October is breast cancer awareness month. Komen Austin has schedule the Race For the Cure on Sunday November Fourth. Don’t forget to set your clocks back on Saturday November Third.The Komen Austin Executive Director Christy Moore says fundraising is down 46% from last year. She wants everyone to know that funds derived are staying here locally within a 5 county area. 75% is used here and 25% goes for research. Art At The Domain returned for a repeat performance October 26 – October 28 for the Fall Festival. In the spring of 2012 they had such a fabulous reception they made sure they utilized Austin’s premier lifestyle venue …..the “Domain” to host the festival again!Admission was free and the event was open to the public. What a great family day to enjoy our fine weather and stroll along soaking in such exceptional national and local artist’s displays. Canyon Creek students are inspired to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works for the Reflections program created by National PTA! This year their theme is "The Magic of the Moment".Students get to interpret this theme through the art areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography and visual arts. CEO Lauri Turner has opened Hatbox: A Modern Haberdashery in the Domain in NW Austin…..her version of hat haven!I grew up wearing hats..it was the styling thing to do in upstate N.Y. You could not have asked for a better fall day to host the Canyon Creek Fall Festival. Jenny Zimmerman deserves a round of applause for her dedication to this event. It was definitely an event to remember!
Jenny you are the best! And kudos to Lauri Fischer for your continued mentoring.
The costumes were outstanding..the winners exceptional and the creepy crawly event had all spectators spellbound!! We are so fortunate to have a community who takes prides in creating a “Happening” with so many residents participating. I marvel at how our community makes sure to celebrate the many seasonal events together!
