Have you ever thought about the difference between a clinger and a climber?
An English or Boston ivy is a clinger. They attach onto a building or even a tree and make their way up at lightning speed. Their grappling hooks are like tiny suction cups on stems and they can scamper up an astonishing 50 feet or so. The Austin Multiple Listing Service recently released their report on Austin Board of REALTORS Austin-area single family homes sale and once again confirmed Austin is smoking hot!
January home sales dipped by almost 2% in Austin compared to January 2015. However the average home price is up 3.8 % compared to January 2015. There are 11.4% more single family homes on the market and pending sales are up 16.6% compared to January 2015. There are now 2 months of inventory in Austin. 2015 has been a hot market in Austin but according to the latest Realtor.com 2016 Housing Forecast 2016 will yield impressive growth for the local market.
 
The report states the “In 2016, we expect single-family home sales in the Austin-Round Rock area to increase by 10 percent compared to 2015. Median single family homes prices are expected to increase by 5 %.”
 
Austin –Round Rock will be the fifth most sought after city from the Millennials (25-34 yrs old) who are predicted to be among the top buyers looking to purchase a home in 2016.

Yes Austin votes on the annual Austintatious Business Contest for the local business that best represents Austin. Earning the title for the second year in a row is Amy’s Ice Creams! Austin Business Journal sponsors this contest.
There were 64 entries and 56% voted for Amy’s Ice Creams who ended up neck in neck with “The Broken Spoke,” one of Austin’s most famous live music venues.
