dishing with dorie: Dishing with Dorie ~ 4/15/19 - 04/14/19 08:44 AM
It's Monday morning and off to take Geno to the doctors. On top of all his ailments he's now dealing with gout! Hope all of you have your tax returns in today is the deadline for filing (unless you have an extension)!
It was a blustery Saturday with high winds but calmed down for a nice spring day.  Sunday showed off blue skies and an unusually sunny day perfect for Hudson and Beckett's soccer games (I made Beckett's this week-end).  I met with my new sellers and I'm so excited to list their stylish home backing to the greenbelt! It will be coming … (25 comments)

A cool, but sunny and clear week-end in Austin. My new listing came on line with great showing activity and another one will be entered into the MLS today. We had good friends to the house for dinner Saturday night and my open house on Saint Patrick's Day was a success! Handsome Hudson and Beautiful Beckett left this morning with their family to ski in Montana! New adventure for Team Dunham!

It's been a busy week-end. Made it to Hudson's soccer game (he is a good player and now playing in 2 leagues). Hudson and family came over to spend time with Geno.. a hot UNO game transpired! The first time in months I've been able to get Geno out for oysters for an early date night and it went well. Helped a seller with some paint choices for the interior of their home (coming on the market hopefully mid April). Worked on taxes almost ready for the accountant.

Its a cold day in Austin this morning..... Twenty six degrees! We didn't make the awards gala in San Antonio for the Regional Coldwell Banker Awards but my daughter Melissa accepted my #3 Top Agent award. I did make Hudson's first soccer game and watched him make several goals. Hudson and his dad came out after to play a game of "Sorry" with Geno. It made his day and these impromptu family visits are the best medicine ever! I showed a new listing to some buyer clients but it really isn't the right fit for them and we will keep looking. I have … (15 comments)

It's a wrap! 25th wedding anniversary and we did celebrate...we decided the best way to have a party was catered at home considering Geno's condition. We all decided it was the best idea we've had in a long time! Fresh Leis flown in from Hawaii for everyone in remembrance of our honeymoon was a surprise for guests!
My new listing went under contract in less than a day and we are negotiating repairs. I will be presenting another listing coming on the market in a few weeks and a scheduled a listing appointment this morning.

We've had some beautiful days in Austin..Friday it was 87 degrees! Family has been taking turns coming over for an early dinner to spend time with Geno. These visits have done wonders for Geno's spirits as he continues to get his strength back. On Valentines Day I received  2 dozen beautiful white empress roses from Geno...my favorites. I was able to make Hudson's flag football game and have a new listing on track to be staged today.

What a cold, wet, dreary week-end in Austin! Hoping to see some sunshine towards the end of the week. The bright spot was Geno was able to come home from the hospital and we celebrated his birthday Saturday morning with a breakfast taco party with the kids!  Balloons, cards and many hugs were in order to help him celebrate his 81st Birthday.
Its Valentine's Day this week so glad to have Geno home to feel the love!
The Austin ISD school calendars are out for the 2019-20. Here are the changes.

It's been quite a week-end with another trip to the hospital for Geno last week...It's become my home away from home. Maybe some good news today.....I'm hoping and praying.
What a Superbowl game! Congratulations to the Patriots for a well fought and deserved win. If you haven't read the featured post by Endre Barath, Jr. you should....it's a great explanation of how they keep accomplishing these victories with a great analogy for us in real estate!
Did you hear about 2 more towers being built in Austin? The Independent won't hold the title of the tallest at 685 feet for long!!

What a great week-end..clear, blue skies and lots of sun....my kind of weather. Showed a house to one of my buyers and we submitted an offer in a multiple offer situation..we will know later today the outcome. Enjoyed getting Geno out Saturday night for dinner and to meet son and family for Sunday lunch. A good time to show Geno  son's new office building completed! Wow..after three long years "Juice Homes" opened their doors at their new digs! So proud!!!

Another chilly weekend but the sun was out with blue skies so no complaining. I received 2 offers on my single story listing in the Enclave so we are under contract! A neighbor reached out by email who is living out of the country but wants to sell his home. I met with a neighbor to let me in to assess what needs to be done to ready the home for market.
I made sure to make Hudson's flag football game on Saturday and wow is their team coming together! On Sunday I was able to get Geno to his barbers for a hair cut!

Finally the rain stopped and Saturday and Sunday were beautiful days filled with temperatures in the 70's, blue skies and sunshine! Talked with a new buyer client moving to Austin, went to Handsome Hudson's flag football game, got Geno out of the house for oysters and a Greek salad and finished the Statistics report going out on the "Review of  Home Sales in Canyon Creek for 2018."

dishing with dorie: Dishing with Dorie on New Years Eve ~ 12/31/18 - 12/10/18 09:44 AM
Today my buyers should initial off on all the changes on their contract for their New Taylor Morrison Home!
It's hard to believe Christmas has come and gone. We enjoyed such a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with family at our home. Hudson and Beckett spent the night with us on Saturday as their parents went to to watch Clemson pulverize Notre Dame! It's brrrrr..cold in Austin and I'm thrilled Geno has done so well over the holidays. It's amazing what an infusion of non-stop family attention can do when your body and soul needs rejuvenating!

It was a cold wet week-end in Austin. Even with the chilling temperatures on Saturday our community winter festival complete with Mr. and Mrs. Santa and horse drawn carriages was pulled off! I showed 2 houses to some clients from CA (they were helping their son and daughter-in-law move move this week-end on a home we closed on last week).
Sunday was spent with daughter, daughter-in-law and granddaughter at the beautiful Ballet Austin production at the Long Center of the Nutcracker!

dishing with dorie: Dishing with Dorie on Christmas Eve ~ Did you know? 12/24/18 - 12/04/18 02:00 PM
Our Christmas Eve day started out with a little drama! Our son took Hudson and Beckett to town Lake early this morning so Hudson could ride his bike and dad ran pushing Beckett in the stroller. Hudson lost his traction and started going over the bank into town Lake..dad grabbed for the bike but still had his hand on the stroller which caused it to flip in the air and Beckett went head first in the stroller into the water along with Hudson and dad! He didn't know how he lifted the stroller up so quickly but he did and all is well. Dad lost his … (17 comments)

A nice week-end with good weather! Saturday Beckett and Hudson came over with their dad while their mom was in CA running a marathon. We baked cookies, decorated some trees outside, wrote letters to Santa and watched the Horns lose in the Championship game in Dallas :). Saturday night the Clemson game made up for the Horns loss! Sunday I held an open house and showed property..multiple offers and we were too late to enter the fray!!

Cold and then beautiful weather alternated this week-end! After a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends this year (our kids were all elsewhere) our Christmas tree is up and most holiday decorations. How about that Longhorn win on Friday and the Aggie win on Saturday - what a thriller - 7 overtimes!! I enjoyed hosting a well attended open house on Sunday and have a funeral to attend this morning and doctors visits for Geno this afternoon.
Have you heard about the affordable mid rise (6 story) Tyndall Condominum Project opened just East of downtown Austin?

Saturday was sunny with blue skies and perfect football weather for an awesome game day experience to watch UT beat Iowa State University! Incredible pre-game day vibe, cellphone flashlights display by everyone during Journey songs and post game fireworks!
Sunday turned blustery and cold and was a good day to work with Geno on his leg exercises and get some of his lost mobility back. Time to kick back with a fire and enjoy life.
Did you know the unemployment rate in Texas for October 2018 was released and its a historic low of 3.7%! Employers are hiring and many employees are looking for housing!

Happy Veterans Day everyone! It's a cold wet day in Austin and I'm bringing my Veteran to the vein clinic for another Doppler today to see if we can't get a handle on Geno's plight. Yesterday I held an open house while friends came over to visit Geno. On Saturday I made Hudson's last soccer game and watched him score 2 goals! In the afternoon Hudson and his dad came out to visit Paw Paw and build a wooden car and played dominoes....a special treat to spend quality time with Geno.

How can it be November 5th? According to Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! there are on 7 Sundays left for shopping before Christmas! We finally had a beautiful week-end of sunshine and I was able to get Geno to work on his exercises and get him out of the house for awhile. We came to terms on repairs for my buyers and I stopped to leave a lockbox for the photographer for a new listing I have coming on tomorrow.

This week-end we enjoyed the sun with clear, blue skies and some resemblance of normalcy in the Dillard house hold. I brought Geno home from the heart hospital and nurses and therapists have been checking in and working with him. His red motorized wheel chair has been a God sent and things are looking brighter. I even took him out for oysters Saturday night so he must be feeling better! As of Sunday we can stop boiling water in Austin! Yeah!!
