Austin’s principle water source is Lake Travis and it is 99% full! After nearly a 10 year drought we are not taking our current bountiful supply of water for granted! El Niño came late to Central Texas and filled every one of our five reservoirs to capacity. During our drought as Lake Travis continued to fall businesses around the lake closed due to the low water levels. Severe restrictions were imposed: Mandatory one day a week sprinkler usage and hand or bucket water for our yards, car washes mandatory recycling of water, no power washing , in some cities a band … (16 comments)

Can't wait for this new restaurant in Lakeway to open! They took over the Hill Country Pasta restaurant and will be opening soon (like any day)! I stopped by to see if they are closer to opening on my way to my new listing in Apache Shores and its going to be soon!! Too busy enjoying the Holidays with family..... but better late than never! You can have leftovers through out the week-end but why not take a break and check out this award winning restaurant in neighboring Lakeway? I’m sure everyone has heard or read about the heavy rains and massive flooding in Texas. We have been in a serious drought for 5 years and praying for rain. Our prayers have been answered and then some!

While traveling in Norway on a cruise through the Fjords we got off in Flam Norway to take the train on the Flam/Myrdal Railway.  Flam is situated in the innermost part of the Aurlandsfjord, a tributary of the 127 mile long and up to 4300 foot deep Songnefjord which is surrounded by steep mountainsides, roaring waterfalls and deep valleys.  We found Flam to be a paradise as it was a one-of-a-kind experience with nature!

Now if only we could beam this water in its entirety to the west side of Lake Travis….our drought would be over in Central … (28 comments)
