January 2012 was a slow month for closings in Canyon Creek for sellers which is typical. December 2011 closings were up 80% compared to 2010 as everyone raced to close by December 31st. In Texas if you close the end of the year you are eligible to file for your Homestead Exemption after January first. If your closing spills over into January you must wait a year to file.
