It’s May 2012 and very shortly the kids will be out for summer vacation! Canyon Creek Elementary is looking for interested parents who want to participate and join the PTA Board! Teryl Booth at teryl19@gmail.com is on hand and willing to fill you in on some of the great opportunities or any of their open positions. They are especially in need of a Parliamentarian, Historian or Fundraising Chair person.The Parliamentarian attends all of the board meetings and general meetings, and ensures the meetings are following Robert’s Rules of Parliamentary Procedure. Canyon Creek Elementary in the RRISD in NW Austin has the support of the community and is constantly participating in campagins to further the availability of enrichment programs. Their latest goal is aimed at taking advantage of collecting Box Tops from General Mills products. The school receives 10 cents for every Box Top submitted. During the 2010-2011 school year Canyon Creek Elementary netted the school over $3,400 for educational enrichment programs for the school from their campaign efforts! That is collecting a lot of boxtops folks!! This year the Canyon Creek PTA is moving full steam ahead for another successful campaign … (9 comments)

Austin TX ~ RRISD ~ 2011-2012 ~ PTA every child.one voiceSince 1969 the National PTA has provided through their Reflections program an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. This cultural arts program is open to children from pre-school through the 12th grade. A new theme is selected each year. Students are requested to interpret that theme in their work in the art areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography and visual arts.
