smiles: Legacy of Gratitude: A Timeless Thank You Note from Geno - 01/17/24 07:06 AM
My son shared with me a heartfelt Thank You Note penned by Geno on February 10, 1998. This note was an expression of gratitude for a remarkable birthday gift presented by Carol, the title company closer with whom Geno conducted all his transactions. The occasion was Geno's 60th birthday, and Carol had gifted him a cherished print of downtown Austin from 1938, the year of his birth.
What made this gift truly special was the addition of Geno's high school photo with a message that foresaw his future in residential real estate:
"Oh yes, I will be here someday. And they will … (20 comments)

Canyon Creek Elementary finished one last project from the funds received from my Geno’s Memorial, almost four years ago. I love how creative the children were who created this park bench! It will sit out on the kindergarten side of the school when school starts in August.

smiles: Serendipity Sundays ~ Smiles Are Like Sunshine - 04/23/23 07:42 AM
I read a post Dr. Paula McDonald  posted yesterday; called Life is Precious and was so sadden to hear in her community they are facing two precious students to suicide.
Our teenagers have gone through so much with the lock down from COVID at a very pivotal time in their lives. Many are struggling and they need us to show them kindness and encouragement.
Paula is right if we see a grumpy teenager at the checkout line leave them with an encouraging word, gesture and most importantly a smile. Smiles are like sunshine….they bring warmth and are good for the soul.

Beautiful Beckett celebrated her 8th birthday with family and a gaggle of girls for a pool party! A birdie told me a polaroid camera was high on her wish list in a certain color of "ice blue" so of course I got it ordered in plenty of time. Beckett was beside her self and couldn’t wait to start snapping away!

smiles: Were you Talking to me? - 06/05/22 03:18 PM
My Geno loved red birds. Every time he saw one (which was often) he’d call to them saying” Hi Mr. Red Bird, come sit with me.”
He always told us after he was gone when we saw a red bird be sure and call out “Hi Mr. Red Bird.” He winked his eye and said it would be him coming to say hi and keeping an eye over us.
These past weeks I’ve seen so many red birds! I saw one on the railing going into the pool and couldn’t get a shot of him quick enough. I saw one at the cemetery … (17 comments)

It's always fun when the kids have school photos taken. They have it down to a science taking so many cute poses and actually spending time with each child to capture their essence (if they sit still long enough). Then they send you a digital album for a price that includes so many really cute poses! This is one of my favorites and Beautiful Beckett wore one of the dresses I gave her for her birthday and her glasses match!

smiles: Life's Two Main Questions..... - 07/15/09 06:25 AM
Life really boils down to just two questions:
1. Should I get a dog?

OR....

2. Should I have children?

One of life's real dilemmas!  No matter which answer you choose, it's times like these that bring a smile to your face, a chuckle to your heart and create memories that will last a lifetime!
This was received in an email sent by a friend.  Thanks for … (16 comments)
