Technology in Real Estate: Convenient or Necessary? - 05/25/11 10:58 AM
Smartphones, netbooks, and the Internet…. Technology consistently transitions from convenient to necessary. We often don't realize how much technology is subconsciously integrated into our lives. It's daunting to remember a time when you couldn't search the nearest pizza joint while updating your twitter account from your Smartphone. We often forget how integral these conveniences have become in our daily routines.
It’s hard to identify when we became a so “synced” with our pocket computers. We can't always explain why it’s absolutely necessary to update our facebook pages or why we panic if our phones die. While it’s hard to understand, (although, … (2 comments)

A growing number of Realtors® are incorporating video into their marketing through sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, TwitVid and many others.  These videos vary in quality as a result of budget, equipment and basic know how.  While no Realtor® is expected to produce an epic masterpiece, executing proper techniques can make one video stand out over the others.

Does Your Online Presence Mirror Your True Self? - 05/20/11 10:39 AM
Posted by DotLoop, Where Deals Get Done ™
Often times in television or film, sales people are portrayed as sleazy, conniving and immoral. While these underhanded sales practices are often embellished for dramatic effect, today’s sales practices actually require a great deal of transparency and honesty.
The prevalence of technology has created a virtual world where people willingly reveal information about themselves, inviting others to connect.  Realtors® are among the more prolific social media users, connecting with potential home buyers, sellers and other Realtors® as well.

While social media is spawning a generation of unprecedented openness, many maintain a healthy … (0 comments)

Rising Gas Prices Change the Way We Do Business - 05/19/11 10:18 AM

Over the last few months, Americans have seen gas prices jump 20 percent or more.  The significant spike that occurred over a short period of time has forced people to change their habits and balance their budgets around the rising prices at the pump. Realtors® leveraging the right technology recognize this unfortunate trend and serve their clients from the convenience of a computer or mobile device.
Driving Is a Financial Burden on Some
Many people only drive when absolutely necessary, because doing otherwise has become a luxury.  Consider how this affects Realtors® and their clients during real estate negotiations.

Every business needs to put a fair amount of focus on the future
Understanding where markets are headed, how potential clients shop and the technology they use to share and obtain information are important considerations when looking to expand business. It’s a matter of making business related hypotheses and preparations to compete and surpass quarterly goals.
The real estate industry is no different, even when markets are at a low point. This may sound counterproductive, but the fact is markets will eventually bounce back; prompting a lot of buyers to contact REALTORS® whom they know or have been referred. It’s vital … (3 comments)

There are many strategies that can help a REALTOR® connect with buyers, but the most important strategy for becoming a successful agent is building and maintaining good relationships with clients. This is often viewed as cliché, but deserves emphasis because of its vital importance.
Realtors that don’t take the time, nor make necessary efforts to build upon relationships are probably going to be out competed by agents who do. There is simply no way around it, so even REALTORS® with the latest technology or flashiest marketing need to remember this basic aspect of business.
Taking the time to meet with … (0 comments)

Real estate news over the last few years has been consistently negative as foreclosures plague the market and lending tightens up on new home buyers. While it seems the idea of home ownership escapes millions these days, there are numbers that indicate the early stages of a recovery.
The National Association of Realtors reported an increase in existing home sales during March 2011; marking a 3.7 percent increase in existing home sales compared to February of the same year.
However, it’s a bit tempered when one takes into account that this increase is still 6.3 percent lower than existing … (0 comments)
