Aston Pennsylvania's Connection To The Winter 2010 OlympicsAston, Pennsylvania is home to a skating rink called Ice Works and in this place for the last 2 years American ice dancers, Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, the 2006 silver medalists had been training for their participation in this winter's Olympic games. Pennsylvania Law Makers voted in October 2008 to put this Legislation in place to help protect consumers when dealing with contractors in 2 ways:  #1 by offering consumers the knowledge up front that a contractor is registered with the state and #2 by offering consumers legal recourse if a fraudulent situation occurs while under contract with a home improvement contractor.
Doug and I became aware of this legislation since Doug is still a practicing contractor in addition to being a Realtor®.  He registered on line and obtained his HIC # and now all of his printed material must show this number.
