Last year I went to a workshop hosted by the American Warrior Real Estate Professional organization. It was an emotionally moving experience for me. This is an organization dedicated to veterans. After the workshop ended I received the AWREP designation. The first thing I did was contact 2 or 3 veterans in the mortgage business and specializing in loans to veterans. Many veterans do not seek VA loans BUT this infographic shows an increase in those seeking VA loans.

These days, many potential first time buyers wonder whether or not they are able to purchase a home. Home prices are escalating and wages are not keeping up. Inventory levels limit the choices buyers have. You have to have a "Plan". Determine how much you can afford. A good "Mortgage Broker/Banker" is invaluable. Many States have "1st-time Buyer Education Programs". Get your finances in order by eliminating/lessening debt. The good news is, there are homes available for you to purchase. Since yesterday was Veterans Day this information from the KCM people is a timely one. There are guidelines for a VA loan so it's important for the veteran to find an experienced mortgage broker familiar with VA loans. These loans do not require a downpayment and they are assumable. For some reasons many veterans do not utilize these loans but should.
