mothers day: To Our Mothers... - 05/14/23 10:07 AM
On Mother's Day, May 8th, 1994, my mother left this Earth and is resting peacefully until the return of our Lord.
Mother's Day is a special day to celebrate all mothers. It's a time to show our appreciation for all they do for us, they are the primary influencer and love us unconditionally, and support us through thick and thin. They are the ones who provide the teachings on compassion, being friendly, and polite. So often, during periods of war, our soldiers cry out for their mothers.
On Mother's Day, it's important to take the time and show our mothers how much we … (26 comments)

mothers day: The Hand That Rocks... - 05/10/20 07:03 AM
...The Cradle Is the Hand That Rules The World" is a poem by William Ross Wallace.

Today's post is to honor the UNSUNG HEROES in each of our lives...Our Mothers. They are instrumental in the care and nurturing of us all. Back in the day, it seemed like we had many mothers as every mother in the neighborhood seemed to know what we were doing.
I wish ALL our Mothers in Active Rain and around the world a very Happy Mother's Day.
I've included a picture of my mother. She's been with the Lord 26 years now and passed on Mother's Day … (14 comments)

mothers day: To Mothers - 05/13/19 05:01 AM

Here it is Mother's Day 2019. On Mother's Day 1994 my mother passed from this Earth into the bosom of our Heavenly Father. She cannot come to me BUT I will see her again when it is my turn to pass.
Without mothers, none of us would exist. Mothers are very important people as they provide the nurturing and primary guidance for each of us. They are there to share our joy, our sorrows and our pain. Just their touch and a soft I love you can be very soothing. THANK YOU Mothers.

mothers day: To Special People... - 05/13/18 06:10 AM
24 years ago, on Mother's Day, my mother passed away after a many year struggle with cancer. There's an old saying "The hand the rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world."
A mother's place in this world is one of significance. She is the nurturer, the healer, the listener, the primary mover and shaker in a child's life. She plays too many roles to really give proper acknowledgment to.
When I was growing up it seemed that we had a dozen mothers. All the mothers in the neighborhood had their eyes on us and we'd all get disciplined by them, when … (14 comments)

mothers day: Who Rules The World? - 05/13/17 06:21 AM
Where would we all be without Mothers?
My father always told me "Don't get between a mother and her cub." I think we all know what that means.
I'd like to share this poem I found about mothers. I have heard the expression "The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world" since I was a child. It means... women are very powerful because they have the most influence in the development of a child's character and integrity and how they turn out as adults.
I didn't know the expression was the title of a poem whose author is William Ross Wallace 1819 - 1891.

mothers day: A Big Weekend! - 05/05/16 09:09 PM
The weekend is here again!, BUT, this weekend is a big weekend.
Tomorrow is the 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby. I'm sure there will be many Derby parties. The odds on favorite, this year, is Nyquist at 3-1. He's won his last 7 races. One of the things I enjoy while viewing the Kentucky Derby, besides the race, is the high fashion and the marvelous hats many of the women wear.
Then, Sunday, May 8th is Mother's Day. MEN, do not forget this. There are a couple of old sayings, "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world." and "If mama ain't happy … (8 comments)

mothers day: The Hand That Rocks the Cradle Rules the World! - 05/09/15 09:04 PM
Today is Mother's Day. The most important job in the world is that of a mother. Mother's are the major force in the shaping of a child's personality. As a child I can remember we were all under the watchful eyes of every mother in the neighborhood. While dad was away working mothers were at home directing and influencing the future of society through their loving nuturing hands & hearts.
Some history...Ann Jarvis of West Virginia is credited as being the founder of Mother's day. In 1908 Ms. Jarvis organized a memorial service for her mother at her church in Garfton, West Viginia. … (13 comments)
